Pipelining arbitrary file transfers + --{in,ex}clude oddness
I'd like to rsync a series of files at arbitrary points in a tree in one
connection and am struggling to figure out how to do this. rsync seems
AFAICS to have a fundamental src_file dst_file model, optionally with
recursion.
The best I could come up with was recursing plus multiple --include with
a final --exclude "*". The idea is to avoid multiple calls to rsync and

Does wine support my app ?
Hi,
I have some questions.
How can I find out that my windows program is fully functional compatible with wine ?
...or how can I find out that all win32 API things are supported by wine ?
Are programs available which can test this ?
First I thought that I can do this with strace.......but this was wrong.
thanks

Accessing mail files not owned by imap login user
Hi,
I have managed to set up a 'maildir' based mail system using fetchmail and
procmail that delivers sorted mail to folders /var/spool/mail/user1,
../user2 etc. 'user1', 'user2' etc. are real users but the mail system is
run under logged in user 'mailserver'. The mail folders are owned by
'user1', 'user2' etc. but mail files, when delivered, are

Attention Mandrake Users
In their inimitable style, in their 9.2 release Mandrake have included a
version of Shorewall that does not support the kernel module naming
convention in that release. I suspect that similar problems will occur
if you upgrade your 9.1 installation.
You have two choices:
a) edit /usr/share/shorewall/firewall and replace this line:
for suffix in o gz ko ; do
with
for suffix in o gz ko

Some of your Debian packages might need attention
Dear Debian Xen Team,

Hi All,
I'm preparing the 2.6 release notes, and need help from people that
would like their projects to be listed in the "External Projects Using
LLVM 2.6" section. Please either directly commit (and remove
"UPDATE") or email me a blurb for the release notes for your project.
Unless I hear from the projects, Pure, LDC, Roadsend PHP will be

[LLVMdev] FYI to out-of-tree target maintainers: patch requiring attention discussed in llvm-commits
Hi,
Following Evan's recommendation, I'd like to notify maintainers of
out-of-tree targets that a patch is currently being discussed on
llvm-commits (http://lists.cs.uiuc.edu/pipermail/llvm-commits/Week-of-Mon-20130114/162561.html)
that may affect your target, since it requires targets to explicitly
state the size of the stack slot used to save callee-save registers.

Attention all Aastra IP phone users...
If you own Aastra phones, here's a group dedicated to your specific
needs. BTW - The Asterisk-users mailing list is great but it has way
too much volume to be useful for specific problems. It needs to be
broken up into smaller more manageable lists.

Attention newbies, an apology.. I WASN'T slamming you.
I'm sorry I gave the appearance I was slamming you.
The tone was supposed to be "Please, help yourself
first, here's why... here's ALL of the resources I use
to help myself." I've successfully been able to keep
questions about Samba to this list down to a minimum
by first consulting all of my sources and perhaps you
can, too.
As I read it again, it had the appearance
