XORG and LCD Projector
dear guys,
I have a problem between my CentOS 5.5 (on Axioo notebook) and LCD
Projector. When I connect my notebook to LCD Projector, it can detect my
notebook.
But when I press Fn + F7 to activate dual monitor between my notebook and
LCD Projector it goes to blank screen. FYI, the LCD Projector is NEC but I
don't know the series.
I've tried to change display using dual head monitor but

Video projector vs. onboard video card
Hi,
I have a CentOS 7 desktop client installed on an old Dell Optiplex
computer with an Intel video card integrated into the motherboard. The
card has a single VGA connector, and the 19" monitor is connected to it.
I wonder how I could connect a video projector to this computer while
keeping the monitor, in a mirroring configuration, e. g. output is the
same on the video projector and the

VGA Capture
Hey lists,
This is somewhat OT, but just a little.
I want to capture live (5 fps?) 1024x768 VGA and make mpeg or something I can
stream over the net.
The application is this: Developer meetings and conferences. "all" speakers
bring their laptops and hook up to the 1024x768 projector. I want to broadcast
that over the net. (I may point a web cam at the presenter too and have

Anyone have any experience with Epson EasyMP projectors?
The folks at my office have acquired a new Epson EasyMP wireless projector,
which requires a windows/MacOS plugin to use. Of course, they don't provide
one for Linux.
Here's their web page on it:

Do any of you folks out there know of any way to use Linux

[OT] What file can I use to change Ubuntu 9.10 display characteristics?
This question is vaguely related to R in that I have managed to wedge
the netbook computer that I use for demonstrations of R and I would
like to know how to un-wedge it so I can continue to give lectures
about R.
I have an ASUS eee PC running the netbook-remix version of Ubuntu
9.10. The X server in 9.10 is a little different from earlier
versions in that it does not require an explicit

trouble connecting to Panduit VGA adapter
I want to connect to an InFocus projector that sits behind a Panduit VGA
adapter. I use a Thinkpad P51 with a mini display-port to VGA
converter. The laptop runs Manjaro and has the
video-hybrid-intel-nouveau-prime installed and it works with other
monitors. For some reason it does not detect the projector that is
connected through the Panduit. The keyboard shortcut to switch monitor

VGA Capture
i am a bit confused to what you want...do you mean you want a scan converter?
you can plug a vga out of the laptops to the scan converter, take another vga from the scan converter to a projector, and a svhs or composite out from the scan
converter to the encoding machine
you can buy them for about 200 USD or less
or do i misunderstand your question?

Code to extract flash file from projector (.exe)
Hello list,
as requested on IRC channel, here is code to extract swf from projectors :
official EXE containing player and animation.
File structure is here :
PlayerEXE
SWF
FA123456 (int32)
SWFSize (int32)
One thing, a line in the code shouldn't be 64safe (use of sizeof(int))

Teaching R - In front of the computer?
Dear R-Users,
given you have been teaching R to students (grad level, mainly social
science background, no previous programming experience, 80% know SPSS),
what are your experiences concerning the style of teaching? Do you
prefer to stand in front of the class like in "normal" lectures and you
show them slides? Or do you you explain some concept (for example things

Mono to use for Writers Blocks 4?
Writers Blocks has issued a new version.
Version 3 ran with
winetricks v6run and mfc40
But it appears that Version 4 needs something else.
I tried it with the above, I tried it with all the mono versions, but installed mono after I installed the program.
wine: Install Mono for Windows to run .NET 2.0 applications.
And ideas?
There is a free trial version on the web site.

slide show with R
Trying to use R to build an interactive "slide show", to be displayed on a
projector. The purpose of the presentation is to show how one could
construct a simple graph using R. It is meant as a general overview rather
than as detailed instruction.
For example, something like the following sequence of commands. At
lecture time, I want the interpreter to read these commands one at a

Hello everyone,
i use the noveau framebuffer device in kernel version 2.6.37.6.
my graphic adapter is a msi 9500gt, connected to a Barco CRT projector.
