I think I messed up DirectDraw.
I tried to run a demo of Hype: The time quest (Windows 95/98, uses directX6 or some glide3 for 3D stuff) to see if it would work. It installed, but comes up with a weird "Cannot find a game using directdraw" error. I uninstalled it and went about my way. While it would be cool to have this run, that is not my main problem. Now, I cannot run Jazz Jackrabbit 2 (also windows 95/98--runs

Wine and opengl error!!!
Hi all, I'm having trouble running windows games from Fedora 9, 64 bit, using wine rc3. I've tried Command & Conquer 3, Age Of Mythology and Jazz Jackrabbit 2. All games fail. I mostly get an error saying that direct3d9 won't work without opengl. However, I have opengl. I've run glxgears and it runs fine. Following is the output: 8877 frames in 5.0 seconds = 1775.333 FPS 9327

Jazz Jackrabbit2: cannot set videomode 320x200x8
Hi, I've been trying to play Jazz Jackrabbit 2 (I love that game), there are reports of it working. However, I'm getting an error and maybe you folks could help me. Could not set 320x200x8 with Any Fullscreen mode Terminal: fixme:system:SystemParametersInfoW Unimplemented action: 79 (SPI_GETLOWPOWERTIMEOUT) fixme:d3d:IWineD3DDeviceImpl_GetAvailableTextureMem (0x1707e8) : stub,

Hype The Time Quest Regression
There's an old Ubisoft game called "Hype the Time Quest". For many Wine versions, Wine could not get past the Hype installer. It would go up to 117% and fail. Then a version came where if you unchecked the DirectX check, the install would work (or maybe that's all you had to do to begin with). But the game would fail to start with an error about MaiD3Dvr_bleu.exe. Then a Wine

Hype: The time quest won't install.
Hype is a Win95/98/ME 3D action game that has always been a favorite of mine. The demo installed fine, so I decided to get my full copy and try it out. For some reason, when it tries to install, it gives this at the beginning: fixme:vxd:VXD_Open Unknown/unsupported VxD L"sice.vxd". Try setting Windows version to 'nt40' or 'win31'. However, that goes away and it starts

1.4 rc 2 Failed to connect to the mount manager
Hi. I've been hunting and reporting bugs for Wine lately, and when I went to the Drives tab of winecfg in 1.4 rc 2, it said "Failed to connect to the mount manager, the drive configuration cannot be edited." Then when I launch Hype the Time Quest in Wine 1.4 rc 2, it can't find the CD and refuses to install. I didn't have that issue before with Wine 1.4 rc 2 and Hype. Both

Migration Of Records From Old Samba Domain To New One
Thank you for taking time to do this, Andrew. But, of course, it will be too late for me. I’ve just returned from exile, where I went on a spirit quest of sorts. Except that, on this quest, I was obliged to keep my distance until I had found a way to export and import all users, groups and group membership from my old samba domain to my new one. I updated schema to support Kerio Connect using

Tierra games...
Hi, I found these remakes of old Sierra games at http://www.tierraentertainment.com/ They run on an windows adventure game engine AGS found at http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk Due to the engine author's reclutance for helping linux people, the only solutions seems to be using wine to get these ancient-but-excellent games running. So far they have made King's Quest 1 VGA and

Samba share not working: getpwuid(1000) failed, Failed to finalize nt token & NT_STATUS_UNSUCCESSFUL
I have a small home network with server and 5 clients all on an internal LAN with private IPs. Samba, Version 4.7.6-Ubuntu, file sharing is not working on the server for any of the 5 clients. I have tried both mount.cifs and smbclient. The same errors are thrown in the server's samba logs for all connection attempts, regardless of how the client tries to connect: getpwuid(1000) failed,

Sip Trunk config
incominglimit is already implemented for SIP. Just specify under the endpoint how many incoming connections are allowed. For example, [cisco] type=friend username=cisco secret=blah nat=yes ; This phone may be natted host=dynamic canreinvite=no ; Cisco poops on reinvite sometimes qualify=200 ; Qualify peer is no more than 200ms away

[PATCH 10/28] MIPS/jazzdma: decouple from dma-direct
The jazzdma ops implement support for a very basic IOMMU. Thus we really should not use the dma-direct code that takes physical address limits into account. This survived through the great MIPS DMA ops cleanup mostly because I was lazy, but now it is time to fully split the implementations. Incoming calls from IAXTEL over NAT
Hey all, I was playing around with IAXTEL last nite and have outgoing calls working a treat. I'm sure I woke a few people up in the US with my annoying test calls. :) Anywayz, incoming calls are a different matter. I have a NAT firewall my * box is sitting behind and the server 'appears' to have registered correctly with IAXTEL. Thing is, when I try and call my 1700 number

Browsing CVS Online
Hey all, Does anyone know if there is a way to browse the CVS tree online, via a webpage? This sounds like a stupid request, but I don't have access to a shell at the moment and wanted to go over a few things. Regards, Jamie Carl Jazz Inc.
