Windows link in linux share...
To reduce the space occupied by Thunderbird IMAP Cache, i've found
this:
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=517425#c49
and seems works as expencted. I've a bit extended to link also global-messages-db.sqlite
(eg, global search index).
But after that, i don't find in roaming profile (server side) the link created
with mklink.
Link are not supported by samba? Thanks.

Help Building LLVM for Android
Hey Guys,
I'm working on a project in Android related to System-level Audio DSP
Effects for Tuning Android Audio. I want to leverage Faust (
https://faust.grame.fr/) to allow users to program their own filters.
Faust provides a libfaust implementation which includes a JIT Compiler
which leverages LLVM and seems to be the best path for me to use.
Unfortunately I'm having problems

Individual Wineprefixes
Hello,
I am looking for a way to create an individual wine rpm of the actual src.rpm. My goal is a new winepfrefix, that is created when a user is logging in, that contains additional win-programs. But I did not find the path in the wine...tar.gz file, where the wineprefix is located. can someone help me?
Is this even possible? Because that would be an easy way to supply a programm for all users

[External] Re: Error in setwd(dir) when initializing R
Dear Ana
When you installed R it gave you an option to put a shortcut on the
desktop. If you did that then you can start the R GUI by clicking on it.
You may need to customise it for your preferences. Specifically it
starts R with an option cd-user-docs which I delete and I then alter the
starting option to start in the directory I want. You may have different
preferences of course.

Not really a question for samba technical, but i can share this.
No need for setting things on samba, that wont help a lot.
Below is my setup and its just how you configure your pc's.
This and almost all other "malware" is EASY to block, but it wil have impact on how your work.
First, start with NEVER work/run as user with administrator rights.

rkward on Ubuntu heron with R2.8.0
I am running R on Ubuntu Heron.
I recently updated to R 2.8.0 from the default (2.6) in the Ubuntu heron
repository by adding
deb http://cran.stat.sfu.ca/bin/linux/ubuntu hardy/
I updated all packages installed in /usr/lib/R/site-library and those in
my home directory /home/duncan/R/i486-pc-linux-gnu-library/2.6
without obvious issues. I installed adehabitat and gpclib, which should
be good

document proposal: TipsAndTricks/ApacheVHostDir
I use named virtual hosts on my web servers, as I'm sure many others do.
I'm used to the method of using a vhost directory for the container files.
I didn't find documentation for it in the CentOS docs or the Apache docs.
I'm not sure if I should take it as a hint that it is depreciated... If
I've missed something, please point me to it.
I've written a quick

OT: Problems updating OS to deal with fading R support for Ubuntu Hardy Heron...
Evening folks:
Not sure where this fits into the picture so bear with me for a few
moments while I think out loud to lay out the particulars of my problem.
-would love to be employed using R for a living but so far I have just
worked with it on my home machine to develop a basic level of skill with
it.
-I run Ubuntu linux 8.04 LTS on a machine with a 2.5GHz Celeron
processor and 1.2GB of memory.

Cannot open file in NTFS filesystem on Ubuntu Hardy Heron
I am trying to run an old version of Family Tree Maker for Windows. I got it working on Ubuntu Gutsy Gibbon, but when I switched to Hard Heron it stopped working.
Specifically when I use the file open dialog to select the database to open I am able to navigate through the Unix directory tree down to the file, but when I request the application to open the selected file I get an error message

Hi there,
I'm working on a new print server to replace one that's pretty long in
the tooth.
I'm using standard packages from Ubuntu Hardy Heron which appears to be
Samba 3.0.28a. We use LDAP for the authentication backend. I seem to
have that configured properly as I get a ldap_connect_system: succesful
connection to the LDAP server in the log but every login fails with:

TipsAndTricks/ApacheVhostDir re-org
After much ruminating about Russ's suggestions, including his addition of
a second example vhost conf file, I've made some additional changes.
I've added a single level contents section to give readers an idea of
what's in the document, since it is getting a little large for a Tips
article.
I've integrated the 2 example sections.
I've placed the vhost.d/ section

EBImage not loading
Hello all
I've just spent a few joyless hours trying to get EBImage to install in R.
I'm running Ubuntu (Hardy Heron), fully updated (including R and
Imagemagick). EBImage installation seems to work, but when I

Now on to creation of disk images
Mr. Heron was so kind to make a suggestion that I should use disk images
to install VMs. Upon further thought, I kinda like the idea. So I
re-read the manual and google a little, and discover I still don't know
what should be in these disk images.
Should I copy the contents of the CDs to a file or what? I've got a test
server at the moment with Centos 5.5 and xen installed as the host

virt-manager connect to remote virtual server xen+ssh
I don't usually install a graphical environment on my servers, so I don't
usually use virt-manager. However, I recently put CentOS 5 on my Dell
Latitude D820. It has hardware virtualization support, 4G RAM and a 500G
HD, so I can carry a virtualization lab around with me.
I found the trick of getting a non-active xen VM to show up in
virt-manager's list by using virsh edit
