wine handles an app weirdly in ubuntu 8.04
I have a little Windows app which under Windows does not require
installation. When started the first time, it creates in its own
directory three files with desired configuration options I choose at that
time. The next time started it simply uses those files.
I copied the folder with the app and old config files to my Ubuntu 8.04
desktop and here what I have.

Fw: re. win32-process
Hi all,
Any ideas for the question below? I know how to do this in theory - make the ''inherit'' flag true, and set the ''stdout'' and ''stderr'' startf_flags hash options to something in the startup_info hash, but I wasn''t sure how to do this in practice.
It would be nice if the answer could be something like this:

Cookie based session management problems
Edge has a change in default behaviour where sessions are stored as
cookies instead of in the file system. This was a pleasant surprise when
I synced up, fired up my app, and nothing worked. Ah, life on the edge.
I''m sure I''m just missing something, but I can''t get sessions to survive
the first redirect. I added the following code to environment.rb, based

Where are 2 letter language values defined?
I've googled for way too long, where are the 2 letter language values
defined?
I know:
en = English
es = Spanish
fr = French
but what about Croatian, Russian, Serbian, Vulcan, etc?
Is there a list documented for Asterisk or is it "just use the 2 letter
country code Internet TLD?"
Thanks in advance,

Dreamhost uploading
I haven''t had a chance to upload my app and configure dreamhost, but I
did log in and create the folder using the "rails app_name" command.
Now, my question is, I read online to do this:
> cd domain.com
> rails my_app_name
So, I did just that. Rails will know what to do even though my
application is in a sub-directory under "domain.com"?

[PATCH] Unified lguest launcher
This is a new version of the unified lguest launcher that applies to
the current tree. According to rusty's suggestion, I'm bothering less
to be able to load 32 bit kernels on 64-bit machines: changing the
launcher for such case would be the easy part! In the absence of
further objections, I'll commit it.

World of Warcraft Launcher.exe keeps crashing
wine-1.3.29
There's a small update to World of Warcraft today. When I run launcher.exe under Wine, it keeps crashing.
I read on this forum that doing "winetricks ie7" would solve the problem, but at the end of installing IE7, the setup program says:
Setup was unable to install the latest Windows Internet Explorer updates. After you restart your computer....etc. etc.
It gives me

Sweave and kile
Dear R-users,
I want to give a try to Sweave and Latex but I am having some problems
compiling my .Rnw files within Kile. I have followed the recommendations
given in http://tolstoy.newcastle.edu.au/R/e5/help/08/10/4277, but they do
not seem to address my particular problem.
I am using R 2.11.0 and Kile v 2.0.83 on an OpenSUSE11.2 installation (KDE

WoW Launcher.exe crashs
Hi,
I've got no problem playing World of Warcraft via the Wow.exe file, but Launcher.exe was always a little buggy, crashing from time to time.
Problem is that today there's a new, small, patch, and Launcher.exe keeps crashing (the Launcher window shows up, then freeze), so i can't update and therefore, can't play.
I use Archlinux (64bit) and wine 1.3.19.

Set LANG on CentOS 6 server
Hi,
I'm having a weird problem on a CentOS 6 server. I installed the machine
in french, so I have LANG=fr_FR.UTF8 defined.
I'd like to define en_US.UTF8, because some output is better readable in
english, like chkconfig --list.
I replaced fr_FR.UTF8 in /etc/sysconfig/i18n and /boot/grub/grub.conf.
Unfortunately, when I reboot the system, I still get this:
# echo $LANG
fr_FR.UTF-8

The OGG Extension...
Me again... :)
Despite all of the comments made in favor of the .OGG extension, I'm still going to have to side with the "different extension" camp. There are a number of reasons for this...
First off... from where I'm sitting, it doesn't matter how much of a grey-area you get into, I can't think of a single scenario where you wouldn't be able to say that it was
