Installing 64-bit app onto 64-bit wine
I have 64-bit Ubuntu and two programs that can be installed as either 32-bit or 64-bit. The programs are Notepad2 and Dragon NaturallySpeaking 10. I run both now with 32-bit but have been told that 64-bit is getting better, so thought I'd try. I compiled 64-bit Ubuntu without a problem, and it runs Notepad just fine, but does not run Notepad2 (which just has one exe and does not need to be

This programs (AFAIK) implements the windows equivalent of their .exe with winelib. However, some applications try to run c:\windows\regedit.exe, notepad.exe and fail. wine notepad - simple Wine failure
Hi, Someone mind verfiying this simple test? Using wine-20041019 run wine notepad Notepad comes up. Choose 'Page Setup'. Dialog box comes up. Choose OK. Dialog box does not go away. Choose cancel. Dialog box does not go away. Only way out (for me) is to dismiss the box in the upper right hand corner controls. Does anyone know what the origin of this version of Notepad is? Possibly

When launching a Japanese program with LANG=ja_JP wine program.exe, the Japanese text in parts of the application isn't displayed. Hello. I am working for a company with a complex (commercial) MFC application that we wish to port to Linux. I have read the guide to compiling the MFC and I have a few questions (hope this is the right place to ask them!): - Is it necessary to recompile MFC? Could we not just distribute the same mfc42.dll file as we use under Windows and use that? - Has anyone written a complete,
