System info: Ubuntu 10.04 x86-64 processor Nvidia GT430 graphics card running Nvidia drivers version 280.13 (32-bit libraries installed) Wine version: 1.2.3 but I've tried 1.3.6, 1.3.31 and 1.0.1--same issue For those of you who don't know, NO$Zoomer is a plugin for the NO$GBA Nintendo DS emulator. It's been working great for the past few months, but starting yesterday, every time I

Re: NO$Zoomer crashes (worked last week)
Just upgraded my system to the new Ubuntu (12.04b2). No$Zoomer seems not to work with Wine 1.4 (from the vanilla Ubuntu) nor 1.5 (from the PPA). Crash gives me this bug trace: Code: Unhandled exception: page fault on write access to 0x00000004 in 32-bit code (0x7bc46909). No$Zoomer not recognizing NDS ROMs
I'm trying to run No$Zoomer, kind of an addition for GBA/NDS emulator No$GBA, that allows to play on higher screen. According to a report in the AppDB (http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=18574) someone seemingly managed to get it working by editing the .ini file. However, and since first time I tried to run it, Zoomer executes but it doesn't recognize the

Speex hardware requirements?
Also, you would be sattisfied with the narrowband decoding because the GBA sound quality isn't very good, however, that depends greatly on what you're going to do with speex on a GBA.... (an RPG with audio dialogs? ;-)) also, using a DSP in a GBA Cartridge sounds like overkill to me, however, that depends greatly on what are you developing and what's your target audience....

Speex hardware requirements?
Compared to todays PDAs the GameBoy Advance (GBA) is low spec. it has a 16MHz ARM7tdmi RISC processor. 32-bit but it can handle 16-bit instructions in a mode that resembles "bytecode" (a 32-bit instruction is executed using a 16-bit instruction). I got a feeling that the GBA would need a FPU. For more information on the GBA visit this info page:

Absolute noob needs help getting and useing the right bits
We are trialing UBUNTU on my son's computer and want to load WINE so that he can use some of his windows programs - of course mostly games..... Our problem is that the PC is a standalone with no internet connection at this time - it will soon. We downloaded wine-1.1.28.tar.bz2 onto a usb drive and copied over, but we are such know-nothings about this that we are stuck. I have seen something

Speex hardware requirements?
I think narrowband decoding should work then (at least if you disable perceptual enhancement). As for wideband, it would at least require shortcuts in the QMF (replacing with IIR filter) to work. SQLDMO "Out of memory"
Hi folks, I am utterly new to Wine, but otherwise relatively competent :-) I am running Ubuntu 8.04 with Wine 1.0 as delivered with Ubuntu. I have a program (KVS from www.school-admin.biz) that I want to try under Linux. The installation gives a couple of errors stemming from missing DLLs. I copied these over from a Windows machine, restarted the installer and clicked "repair".

wine apt no logner add-able
I'm running xubuntu 9.04 on dual boot with 98SE 900mhz 384mg ram 100gb drive. you know, all the latest cutting edge stuff to date. [Laughing] any who i noticed the install direction on the main page have changed because you use to have to install the Scott Richie file and the APT line was longer and different. when i copy and paste "ppa:ubuntu-wine/ppa" my add source button stays

How do I use the developers version of Wine 1.1.20?
I'm still not sure how I did it, but I managed to use the link http://wiki.winehq.org/GitWine for the latest development version, and even installed git (blind man navigating New York City streets). So now all I have to do is Code: git fetch ; git rebase origin to stay up to date. My question is how do I run programs with it? When I do the normal Code: wine setup.exe for example, it says

How does a noob have to uninstall Wine (on MacOSX)??
Hello, I have tried to install Wine on my mac pro (leopard 10.5.6) but it did'nt work very well. When I wanted to run a windows applications, wine told me that I had to install Freetype 2.0.5 or later. I downloaded it from this website : http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=3157. Unfortunately I didn't install freetype properly. As a consequence, when I try to run an

PID error when running app in one location but not another
I'm a new wine user, so i'm not very good with it yet, but I'm trying to run No$GBA on my Mac. So far, it only works when the app is located in my Downloads folder. If I move it anywhere else, I get the ERROR! launching wineserver failed! no new wineserver PID found! I have tried downloading the app directly into the folder from which I want it to run, but that doesn't change

R-alpha: What should is.vector do?
[ Consumer warning: This is a little technical ... ] I have been pondering the question What should is.vector do? Martin has raised this a number of times. I ran a few tests in S and got the following results. S> is.vector(list(1,2,3)) [1] T S> is.vector(expression(a+b)) [1] T S> is.vector(as.name("x")) [1] T S> is.vector(NULL) [1] T S> x <- 1:5

[LLVMdev] using external functions from llvm
> I'm afraid that you might be utterly confused about how to use LLVM. Er, I don't think so? I think I was mostly just confused about interfacing with external functions, since whoever wrote that blog post ( http://www.gearleaf.com/blog/post/44) didn't seem to know what he was talking about (or he was doing stuff that once worked but now doesn't? I don't know). If you

Switching to 16 bit colour ...
"bit of trouble" - good pun! But I do hope it gets solved. Can you make a bash file (oh no - a pun of my own!) to automate any of those annoyances? Would putting the game "in its own WINE" help at all? How do I port a 16bit Macromedia binary game?
Hi guys n girls! This is my first post here. I read that wine was made for 16bit orginally and had support to run it. Recently tried to install it with wine skin but I get a error message at launch. I have installed several 32bit applications before and they have worked flawlessly but this does not run yet. Maybe you guys know better?! =) The game itselft seems to be a 16bit Macromedia Director
