DLLs
Wine 1.1.2 Kubuntu 8.04 Hardy I am experimenting with Brother's Keeper (BK6) in Wine. Generally it runs quite well. To get it to run however I found it necessary to copy DLLs from the system32 folder into the main program folder. I know that other people using other distros have not done this. Is there a more elegant way of achieving the same result?

Brother's Keeper missing .dll
Hi, I am running Wine 1.0-rc3 on MEPIS 7 Brother's Keeper is a genealogical data-keeping program. The log.txt file tells me a .dll is missing:- err:module:import_dll Library MSVBVM60.DLL (which is needed by L"Z:\\home\\Stephen\\.wine\\drive_c\\Program Files\\Brother's Keeper 6\\Bk6w.exe") not found err:module:LdrInitializeThunk Main exe initialization for

Opening another Program From Wine App
I use a genealogy data management app called Brother's Keeper (BK6). It is possible to create a report in RTF format which will optionally be opened automatically in a word processor. To do so you must enter the path to the word processor. I can install Wordpad in Wine and it works quite well but I would like if possible to open a native Linux app. Can it be done?

[PATCH] BUG on error handlings in Ext3 under I/O failure condition
Hello. I found bugs on error handlings in the functions arround the ext3 file system, which cause inadequate completions of synchronous write I/O operations when disk I/O failures occur. Both 2.4 and 2.6 have this problem. I carried out following experiment: 1. Mount a ext3 file system on a SCSI disk with ordered mode. 2. Open a file on the file system with O_SYNC|O_RDWR|O_TRUNC|O_CREAT

Assertion failure in do_get_write_access() at fs/jbd/transaction.c:746
I guess this could be filed under the 'shot myself in the foot' section, but I figured I'd report it anyways.. Kernel 2.5.50-bk6, x86, preempt, PIIX IDE, ext3 fs. I dd'ed the first part of a ext3 partition to tmp, then mounted it via loopback. (the image passed a fsck, except for warning about corrupt part. table or superblock) I tried to 'cd' into a directory within

Intercept Dungeon Keeper 2 Textures
Hi everyone, I don't if this post belong to wine-devel or the forum so I'm putting it here now and in case I'm wrong I'll post to wine-devel. I try to retrieve Dungeon Keeper 2 resources (meshes, textures, sound etc.) in order to create an hypotetical clone of this game :D. Since I'm not a pro in hacking compression algorithm I didn't try to understand the DKII

Dungeon Keeper
Hello, Has anyone ever gotten Dungeon Keeper to successfully run under wine? I'm a newbie to wine, but I managed to get it installed and configured to the point of where it would install the game off the cd-rom. I'm using: Wine release 20010629 And I've added the usual WinMM section to the config file. Here is what wine told me when I installed the game: Linux black > wine

Kununtu Menu Problem With Wine
Very new to Linux so please be gentle. Running Kubuntu 8.04 (Gutsy). Installed Wine and a couple of Windows apps. Couldn't get them to work so uninstalled apps (through Wine) then uninstalled Wine. Found that the Wine entries were still visible in the K Menu so I deleted them (not sure how). I think I found them somewhere using the file manager (Dolphin) and deleted them there. Now I have

Dungeon Keeper 2 mouse issues.. again
Hi, I am trying to run DK2 in Ubuntu 9.10. It launches, but the mouse pointer is stuck it the middle of the screen. Its possible to move it sometimes, but it seems chaotic. I have done the "Navigate to HKCU / Software / Wine. Create the DirectInput folder/key and create the MouseWarpOverride string value and modify the data to 'disable'" thing advised everywhere, but it did not

Winetricks deleted most of my hard drive
Immediately after running winetricks a month ago, several very important directories disappeared from my hard drive, and despite paying a lot of money to good data recovery company, I have not been able to recover them. I have searched this forum and elsewhere for evidence of this happening to anyone else with no result. Is it at all possible that the script deleted my directories by accident

Dungeon Keeper 2 graphics crash? (probably a quick fix)
I switched to Ubuntu last week and have been trying to get some old classics running, and I'm working on Dungeon Keeper 2. I'm very new to Wine and to debugging, so I apologise if this problem is in bugzilla; I was unable to find it as I didn't know which part of the error to focus on! I'm using Wine 1.1.42, Ubuntu 10.04 and DK2 is patched and cracked to the max. When I prompt

edit C: drive path.
I recently killed my Windows installation with the "upgrade" to SP3. Some driver bull$#!7 idk... Well, I need to uninstall Sp3, but the cache is, I can't uninstall it if I'm not booted into Windows because it automatically expects the drive letter to be C:. Well, here's my plan: I want to reassign temporarily the C: drive in WINE to /media/disk instead of c_drive...

SetWindowsHookEx16
I have this problem reported when running a Win3x application: fixme:hook:SetWindowsHookEx16 hook type 1 broken in Win16 I have searched and found this exact error and similar ones (up to fixme:hook:SetWindowsHookEx16) reported as part of other error messages, but I haven't seen what to do about it. It seems this is the only error I am getting. What can I do about it? What does it mean?
