Wine NT Services / Serial Port
Hi!
I'm currently working on a project to upgrade my car's display with NAV...
Due to prohibitive high costs of oem solutions (and limited use except for
nav), I decided to use a laptop, runnig that software...
So, I already have MS Autoroute 2001 (european version). Against my
expectations, this program runs fine with Wine release 20011004. However,
the GPS Add-In doesn't work.

USB and serial
Hello, everyone -
I have an old Windows app - a ship navigation program - that needs to
see GPS input on a serial port (it was written in the pre-USB days.) My
laptop, however, has no serial ports - but this same program, when run
on a friend's Windows box, can read the GPS info from the USB-connected
GPS via the "USB-Serial Driver". This is one of the frustrating bits of
this

Any free video (or audio) softphone VOIP client under Linux with touchscreen friendly interface ?
Hi,
I'm curious if anyone knows of any possibility to use video VOIP client
(like Ekiga or Linphone or...) under Linux that could be operated by
touchscreen friendly GUI (bigger buttons, large keypad, etc...) ?
I like Ekiga, but GUI is small and cannot be operated via touchscreen... But
maybe there are some skins for existing clients that are more touchscreen
friendly ?
Thanks in

correctly under CentOS. I tried to use the 3m driver and the elousb driver,

Connecting a gps to download data
I've installed through wine the program for a gps data logger QSTARZ.
The program works fine with wine, but cannot dowmnload the data from the
gps because I only have a windows driver for it.
Any way to get the windows driver installed in linux so that I could
download the data?
Thanks

Multiple databases + switching databases
Hello,
I have an application that access two different DBMS - Firebird
and Postgres. So far, that''s ok. The problem is, depending on the
customer logged, a different database (Firebird) must be selected.
To make the things clearer:
Postgres: 1 database shared by all customers with these tables:
- user
- vehicle
- driver
Firebird: several databases with different names and identical

Lattice question.
Hi.
I am trying to do histograms in lattice, and I want to get both
counts and percents in the same plot. To try to be clearer ---
there are 3 levels to my factor; I'd like to get a 2 x 3 array
of plots where the top row consist of histograms by counts and
the bottom consists of (the corresponding) histograms by percent.
I tried the following:
# Demo.
library(lattice)
set.seed(42)

Attach a GPS in preboot mode
Hello everyone and best wishes for 2023 :)
I have an old *Garmin Drive Smart 50 GPS* and I want to be able to
attach it when it is in preboot mode to a VM hosted by a *Debian 11 host*.
From what I understand, the preboot mode allows us to flash a firmware
before the GPS actually starts (used among other things when the GPS is
soft bricked).
When I connect the GPS to the host it gives:

Battlefield Vietnam Fonts
Successfully installed Battlefield Vietnam at the second attempt, the first failing because I was camped on the CD drive with the terminal screen, preventing the first CD from being unloaded ... Ho hum! However, the screen text display is terrible ... but this was the case on XP until I loaded the right fonts that BV was expecting ... but I cannot remember which fonts, and I no longer install a

latitude longitude data
Dear R-helpers,
I get GPS readings with bug counts (bugs meaning
insects in this case) made along rows in crop fields
and use these to make maps of bug distribution. The
GPS readings are not quite accurate enough for my
purpose, so since I know what row each reading is made
in, I adjust the latitudinal coordinate using:
grd<-lm(lat~lon+Row,data)

LiveZilla 3.1.8.1
I'm starting a new thread because the previous thread discussing Livezilla refers to older version of Livezailla and Wine and is no longer relevant.
I'm using wine-1.0.1 and LiveZilla 3.1.8.1. I used winetricks to install dotnet20, corefonts and ie6. The Livezilla installer appears to complete, however the Livezilla.exe file does not get created. I'm not sure how to troubleshoot

I am also an old guy and didn't want to use the Rpi for this purpose.
However, many years
