Installing Enterprise Architect
Does anyone have a tutorial for getting Enterprise Architect to run with wine? I installed wine through yum and then ran the Enterprise Architect installer. But when I launch the software, the splash screen comes up with I get an error message saying: Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library Runtime Error! enterprise architect trial expired before started!
Hi I just installed EA 9 Trial version. I can't get running it further than splash screen. At this point EA says the evaluation period has expired! But this couldn't be true since EA was downloaded and installed today. However the screen offers 2 buttons "Continue Trial" or "Buy". If I choose "Buy" nothing happens at all. Otherwise the application will

Followup: SOLVED Re: Font display problem with Text in UML-Notes of Enterprise Architect (wine-1.1.3 in Ubuntu Hardy)
Hi again, I was able to solve my problem with installation of the both native RichText Libraries. This URL pointed me to the solution: http://ubuntu-virginia.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=4614684 --> sh winetricks riched20 riched30 ==> installs and activates both RichText NATIVE Libraries --> now I can install and use EA without problem Important: The emulated Windows flavour

Cannot get UNC paths to work correctly
Hi all I wish to run 'Enterprise Architect' from Sparx Systems[1]. The installer runs just fine, and the application installs OK. The main issue is that the license key file is a shared resource - many users can utilise the same license file (legitimately I might add!) at the same time, so the license file is located on a SMB share. The key file itself has encoded into itself what the

Font display problem with Text in UML-Notes of Enterprise Architect (wine-1.1.3 in Ubuntu Hardy)
Hi, I'm having medium success with Enterprise Architect 7.1 in wine. While crossover-office-6.0.0 (in Ubuntu Edgy) is able to display the fonts in the: + Key-Store Config dialog (where you have to enter the product keys) + UML diagram (class diagram) NOTES-Item - this does NOT work with wine-1.1.3 and also the last wine version before 1.0 in Ubuntu (different versions). The strange thing

No images in Enterprise Architect internal help
Hi. I just installed Wine (version 1.1.9 from openSUSE repo) and then installed Enterprise Architect (the "Linux" version). The installation went fine, I was asked if I wanted to allow Wine to download and install Gecko to render HTML, I did and I think it was installed ok. But when I bring up the internal help no images are displayed, only text. Instead of the image is displayed a

LCR with ENUM and DDNS: half the story
Ok, so you've read the Wiki and gotten call routing using ENUM to work (http://www.voip-info.org/tiki-index.php?page=Asterisk%20E164%20Call%20Routing) with your own ENUM-alike domain, e164.example.com. But how do you populate it with data? You can do it manually, but that gets very tedious very quickly. Or you can use the nifty DDNS updating program that comes with bind9. The first thing is

plot the y-axis upside down
Hello, I need to create a scatterplot where the y-axis is upside down. If I have non-negative bivariate data in objects "x" and "y," then the operation plot(x, -y) gives me the figure I want -- a mirror image of plot(x, y) -- except that the y-values (coordinates) are negative, which I don't want. Is there a simple way to do this? Jason

pictures printed upside down and mirorred
Hi all, one of my applications (Breezebrowser) runs fine under wine (it's a digital picture cataloging system), but when I want to make prints, either thumbnails or a single picture, the pictures are printed upside down and mirorred. So I have to turn the paper 180 degrees and look thru against light, which is somewhat confusing. The preview print on screen is OK! Also the print is OK if I
