Compiling from source - where is winecfg?
Hey all, I've just switched distro to Linux Mint Debian Edition (LMDE) from LM9 Isadora. Some of you may be aware that the Wine Debian packages are extremely old (the repo the main page directs me to doesn't go above 1.1.4.2), so I compiled 1.3.4 from source, without installing. That went fine, insofar as I tested with a previously-installed app and it ran, but now I want to install a

Fonts are too small in menu bar
Hi. Is there any chance I can increase the size of my fonts for the applications opened with wine? My resolution is 1600 x 1050 and the size seems to be from 5 to 6 pixels (or dpi) and it really hurts my eyes. All my linux apps are just ok at 10 pixels (or dpi) Thanks in advance Luis

Funky Font problems with Quicken 2010
I am using wine 1.3.16 on Mac OX 10.6.7, built and installed using osxwinebuilder. I am using it to run Quicken 2010. Quicken installed and runs fine with one exception: One of the fonts used in Quicken is rendered very poorly. Here is an example: [Image: http://altosdesign.com/bugs/fontissue1.jpg ] Searching for this problem led me to a number of posts that suggested using winecfg to set the

Font rendering and winecfg in 20050725
I just upgraded to 20050725 from 200505xx on FreeBSD 5.3 and Xorg 6.8.2. The problem is that when I run a windows application I do not get ANY fonts displayed in the menus, buttons, text boxes, nothing. In the 200505xx version I set "ClientSideWithRender" = "N" and "ClientSideWithCore" = "N" in .wine/config and that fixed it. However I have no idea

Problem with a Win16 application fonts
Hi all, I have a win16 app running. It works ok, but the fonts are almost unreadable. I've tried to change the fonts with winecfg changing the dpi and the options on the Desktop Integration tab, but only the dialogs get changed, the main window doesn't update. I've used winetricks to download all the fonts, but it didn't improve. Are there any special changed that can be made to

X11 warnings about "wrong" font sizes (PR#840)
Hi. This is cosmetic in nature, yet annoying as the warning points to the wrong source: On a screen running on an X server with 100 DPI, I always got warnings about X11 using the wrong font size: > x11() Warning message: X11 used font size 17 when 12 was requested Then I looked at the code and X11 is _not_ to be blamed for this: R resets the requested font size for 100 DPI screens! There

Q about dpi, fonts, gnome, Xorg etc
This has been puzzling me for some time and despite bothering Auntie Google rather a lot, I've yet to find a satisfying answer. As an old-time (since 1981) unix and X guy, I've generally been fairly well-able to get fonts to behave in a rational manner. My needs are pretty simple - I just want 8-point (or 9-point etc) fonts to appear on the screen as 8-point font - ie more or less 8 *

Font Size for View()
Hello, I am using Ubuntu 16.04, using the default (Unity) window manager. The font size using View() is way too small on a high dpi monitor. I already use scaling, but View() doesn't seem affected by that. Any suggestions for how I could tweak the font size here? Best, Wolfgang

adjust font in ggplot2 to LaTeX document
Hi, how can i adjust the font in a ggplot2 qplot so that it will look similar to the LaTeX font? Computer Modern Sans Serif in the same size would be nice. My output device is ggsave(filename="test.pdf", width=5.5, height=3, dpi=300) and i will include the graphic with 5.5 inch in LaTeX. I found some pages about that topic but all solutions that i found have been very complicate
