Wine/Interix -- The pros and cons.
I was thinking about running Wine on Interix (the POSIX layer of
Microsoft's Services for Unix). There are a few apparent unknows:
Would Wine load the .dll.so's? Since Interix uses PE for it's native
format (running on Windows, duh), Would Wine load the .dll.so's? Would
it reject them being in PE format and having the 'POSIX Layer' attribute
set, or could we hack on a

Tmax Window(a propietary OS) using Wine?
Hi, Im posting here the next doubt:
Yesterday a korean company has released a new OS which is compatible with MS Windows Apps. As they state, they are a propietary OS, and i cant see any GPL code or SVN repository.Of course my lack of Korean can help to not find the open source code, but the little im able to read seems they arent going to release any source code.
I know that is quite difficult

Something like Mauve for Wine/ReactOS?
I have read just the comment from Mark Wielaard, the leader of GNU
Classpath:
http://gnu.wildebeest.org/diary/index.php?p=129
And after that I have a question, if somethinl like Mauve exists also for
WINE/ReactOS?
GNU Classpath is a OpenSource-Version of the Java Standard Edition Classes.
And Mauve are testclasses, which test, that the OpenSource JVMs with GNU
Classpath are still working

WINE for Reactos
Hi Everyone,
For those of you who don't know, Reactos (www.reactos.com) is an open source
(GPL) attempt to write an NT compatible operating system.
By the end of the year the kernel should be developed enough to support a
GUI.
My first thought was to grab the xfree86 source code and use the bitmaps,
etc. from there and program my own USER32.DLL. However, if WINE can be
altered to run on

Re: Tmax Window(a propietary OS) using Wine?
Forgive my poor English.
There is Tmax Window, the 1st windows XP compatible proprietary OS from Korea.
Tmax company showed screenshot of Tmax Windows.
But it is known as they mixed images with real XP and OpenOffice suite screenshots.
http://mr-dust.pe.kr/entry/Tmaxwindow-screenshot-failed
Tmax Window is doubtful about stolen ReactOS source code:
This is a post of a tmax developer.

Re: KVM resource analysis
Dear Adam,
Depending on what exactly you want to do with your data and the
precision you want to gather, Munin can be a great helping tool.
It will give you the opportunity to gather data about your resources on
the hypervisors and their usage. Furthermore, it comes with Libvirt
plugins that allow you to check the resources usages of your VMs on said
hypervisor.

openssh on interix
Hi openssh developers,
I'm trying to port openssh to Interix. See [1] for more on this.
For Interix sshd needs to be patched to not use setuid()/setgid(), but
an Interix specific function setuser(). See [2] why it is needed.
Unfortunately, setuser() needs the clear-text password of the user to
be fully functional (If you use password-less setuser(), then the
user doesn't have network

[PATCH] Correct chain.c32 v. 6.04-pre1 for Reactos
Correct the "seg=" value(s) corresponding to the "reactos=" option
for chain.c32.
The correct segment parameter should be "seg=0x0F80",
instead of the incorrect / failing ones "seg=0:0x8000:0x8100".
