spec task prints usage
A small feature request.
When running the spec rake task, if any of the folders ''spec/models'',
''spec/controller'', or ''spec/views'' doesn''t exist or if they don''t
contain any specs, the spec usage is printed.
In my case I didn''t have a views directory. I was able to get rid of
the usage output by creating the

rake spec:models failing
Hi there,
I''m having trouble with `rake spec:models`. It''s failing on:
- 1 old rspec/rails project
- all new rspec/rails projects
But, it *is* working fine on my other (older) rspec/rails projects. All
projects are on rspec & rails 1.0.8, Rails 1.2.3, os X ppc
Here''s a fresh rspec/rails project with failing rake task

Fail to load spec/rake/spectask
Hi!
I''m a newbie at Ruby. I''m trying to run rspec tests using rake. In my
rake file I include spec/rake/spectask.
It fails to load giving me the following message:

Combining autotest, rspec, rspec_on_rails and spec-server
Hello,
I''ve been trying to google the definitive way to combine autotest,
rspec, and spec-server, but to no avail. It seems like there are lots
of suggestions from old versions. Furthermore, some commands such as
rake:autotest don''t seem to be around anymore.
So, is it required to install ZenTest as a gem? I have version 3.9.1.
I believe this gets me the autotest

Including my plugin specs into rake spec
Hi,
We''ve been building plugins for our app, and we kept running into forgetting
to run the plugin specs when we updated from svn. So, I took the task on to
have the rake spec command include our plugin specs, as well. I only wanted
to have our plugin specs run, not third party ones.
In order to do this, I edited the rspec_on_rails /tasks/rspec.rake file to
include our specs in the

rake spec - no output
rake spec does not seem to be doing anything. Could it be a problem with
ruby 1.9? Here is what I did:
rails rspec-test

test.rb: config.gem "rspec-rails", :lib => false, :version => ">= 1.2.0"

rake spec aborting
hello,
when running rake spec, I''m getting a stack trace similar to the one
mentioned in this ticket, which has been resolved:
http://rspec.lighthouseapp.com/projects/5645/tickets/237
but from what I understood, if the project is using rspec 1.1.3 (as is
the case with mine), this shouldn''t be happening?
here''s the stack-trace:

rake spec fails where rake spec:(models|controllers|views) pass
I''m still trying to work into Ruby 1.9.2 and am now experiencing
something that makes no sense to me. Using rspec 1.3.2 and rspec-rails
1.3.4 with rails 2.3.11 on ruby 1.9.2-p180, when I
$ rake spec:models
they all pass. When I
$ rake spec:controllers
they all pass. When I
$ rake spec:views
they all pass. But when I
$ rake spec

RCov results seem to include the spec files
I saw the RCov page at http://rspec.rubyforge.org/tools/rcov.html and
decided to add it to my project. My rakefile looks like this:
require "rake"
require "spec/rake/spectask"
desc "Run all specs with RCov"
Spec::Rake::SpecTask.new("spec:rcov") do |t|
t.spec_files = FileList["spec/**/*_spec.rb"]
t.rcov = true
end
When I run rake spec:rcov,

Custom File List for Rails 3 Spec Task
I have some javascript specs (using the jspec javascript framework) in my rails 3 project, living in the spec/javascript directory. How can I exclude the ruby files in the jspec project from being run when I run "rake spec"?
RSpec::Core::RakeTask used to take a file list (which was usually generated with a glob pattern and an explicit call to Dir.glob). Now it only takes a glob

Running specs within a spec server
Hi guys. I''m unable to run my specs through a spec server. I''ve spent
several hours searching and playing around with this problem, and I
simply can''t find a solution. So if anyone has any suggestions, I''m
all ears.
Does script/server need to be running in conjunction with the spec
server?
I have "--drb" specified in spec/spec.opts .

Can I get RSpec NOT to abort rake on failing specs?
At work we''ve got a rather complex app with both specs and tests. Our
default rake task runs all our our tests and specs. We''ve also got separate
rake tasks to run groups of tests and specs in the various subdirectories.
The default task simply lists all the individual tasks as pre-reqs.
We do a lot of branching and merging, so we really want to run all of the
tests and specs

Spec slowdown
Is there something currently going on on the rspec trunk that causes
a massive slowdown when running rake spec and autotest (without
spec_server)? I updated to the latest trunk yesterday and the time
needed to run the specs of my app jumped from ~20 seconds to more
than a minute. The weird thing is that if I run the rake spec tasks
separately (controllers, models, views, helpers), they

rspec fails at first run -- no such file to load -- spec/rails
Hi,
I newly downloaded rspec, rspec_on_rails and ran the command
ruby script/generate rspec
from the instructions http://rspec.info/documentation/rails/install.html
I then created the directories in spec:
controllers, fixtures, helpers, models, views
I then created the file spec/models/user_spec.rb as a spec for my model User.
(Is the convention to name the model''s spec

rake spec runs my spec:remote specs!
In my spec folder, I have a "remote" directory, which contains my
specs for live data transferring with an outside api. When I run rake
spec, it runs the remote specs and I don''t want it to. Keep in mind
there is NO lib/tasks/remote.task file. I ONLY want these remote specs
to run when I execute rake spec:remote
How can I achieve this?
