Grand Prix 4 doesn't install completely, i.e. the installation terminates just at the end of the process which might be due to the msi installer. Links 2003 installs, but aborts in the early stages of boot which might be due to copy protection, e.g. SafeDisc.

Update: Grand Prix 4 plays almost flawlessly with Catalyst 10.6 and WINE 1.2rc3.. HOWEVER, over the past few releases of WINE (audio work), I've noticed that partly through the playback of Grand Prix 4, the audio suddenly stops. Prior to 1.2rc3, Grand Prix 4 used to crash shortly thereafter. However, since WINE 1.2rc3, after the audio stops, Grand Prix 4 continues without crashing ... just

How does one run a .reg file in wine? Im asking because edit a game I need to make a .reg file and run it like an .exe help will be appreciated!

I try to use an ebook reader with wine! It needs to activate itself, so I can open it. When I try to to so I get the error massage from the eBook reader application, that i would be not connected to the internet... witch is silly because I play an MMORPG game with Wine! Anybody had any luck getting MS flight simulator running? I'm running Ubuntu 7.10 on Intel and got to missing the Winders flight simulators after someone just gave me FS-X. It starts to install fine until it asks for the second DVD, which it never sees. When I click the Retry button, it keeps coming back with "Insert Disk #2." Any ideas? I am trying to run Grand Prix legends, more specifically the 2004 Demo (http://www.bhmotorsports.com/GPL/downloads/3239) I could install the demo using wine but when I launch it, forcing it in a 1024x768 windows, a blue screen opened then closed, no error messages. With the newer audio code in WINE (OpenAL), sound is a little flaky with Grand Prix 4, but the game runs awhile just fine before failing (ATI binary driver + WINE 1.1.44).... nice progress. I am really getting into my new Ubuntu Hardy Heron software but wondered if any music lovers amongst you could give me some advice? I heavily use Band in a Box 2008 on the XP side of my machine and have tried to install it, through the wine emulator so I can use it in Ubuntu. Everything was working fine, then after an update, it no longer works. I am using Fedora 7. I am unsure of the Wine version. Any of the Wine apps cause the screen to blank when I start them. I can press alt+f4 to close and get my Fedora desktop back. How do I get my Wine apps to work again? --Tony

Sunday I intalled Kubuntu 8.04RC and afterwards discovered that an old 16 bit windows program I've been running for years in WINE will no longer run. At first it told me there wasn't 16 bit support. So, just for chuckles I booted 8.04 with the older 2.6.22.14 kernel and it worked just fine. I prefer to use the new kernel since the scanning software no longer works under the older kernel
