How to instruct Wine to use MSIE rendering engine by default instead of Gecko?
Hi, I need to debug some complex Javascript that leaks in MSIE (no leaks in Firefox though). For this purpose, I am trying to utilize programs like Drip and sIEve. Both programs fail under Wine, and my guess is, they try to use Gecko as the rendering engine (and this is not what's desired: Gecko works fine with my stuff). Now, provided that MSIE can be installed under Wine, and works, can

I am using Ubuntu 8.04 and Wine 1.10. Before installing Wine I had installed Firefox 3.0 final release for Linux as instructed on the Ubuntu site. It said not to uninstalled the version of Firefox that came with Ubuntu because it may break Gecko and other things, so I didn't uninstall it. I've now installed Wine 1.10 and have installed one application, however, it gave me a prompt to

Wine through SSH for Quicken 2006
I am trying to run Quicken 2006 on Wine through an SSH tunnel. Everything is working fine through logging in and starting, until I click on one of my accounts in Quicken. At that point, Quicken freezes completely. I am running this on a CentOS 6 x86_64 PC. This is the information I get through a terminal window: bash-4.1$ ssh -Y <<user>>@<<server>> env

opensuse 11.2 64 bit I have downloaded and compiled/installed wine 1.1.11, so that I may use a windows program called WinMX 3.54b4 [32 bit] on my linux opensuse distro. I had been advised that Wine versions higher than this do not work well with WinMX. At the end of the compile it tells me that libgphoto2-32bit was not found and that cameras won't work. I check in Yast2 to see if it can

The problem is that Anita needs to open an HTML page and display a PDF file. It works on Windows - terminal emulation software displays the PDF file without any problems but it doesn't work on linux. It displays a blank page. My guess is because on Windows

206 response for Chrome Mobile
Hi - I'm using Icecast to stream some audio that I embed in an <audio> tag on a webpage. This is working great for desktop browsers and on iOS, but it doesn't work on Android. It looks like Chrome mobile sends the header "Range: bytes=0-1" and then doesn't try to load any more data when Icecast responds with a 0 byte "HTTP/1.0 200 OK" response. From my

pdf font embedding --- again
dear R wizards--- I would like to do some book-on-demand printing at a popular printer named lulu, but lulu requires inclusion even of the basic postscript fonts. Interestingly, my book itself does not need the 14 base acrobat fonts, only the embedded R figures do. Of course, I really would like to get pdftex to embed the fonts, but how to do this is not obvious either. [This method seems
