mounting CDROM without mapaping UC to LC
Hi!
this is surely a newbie question, so I should know the answer, but
I'm fighting with mounting a CD such that filenames are NOT mapped to
lowercase (I need to use its on-board tools for accessing files on it
while mounted on Centos 6.5, and those tools assume uppercawse, since
they assume the entire world runs Windoze.)
but despite my best efforts, it keeps being mounted with UC-LC

Wine debug trace log makes things better?
I was running Riven with the command for a debug trace log because I wanted to file a bug report. Normally Riven freezes after the end of the intro video and also freezes fairly often after other videos and transition effects.
But I found that when I ran Riven with the trace log command it didn't freeze at all, is there a reason for this?
Should I still submit the trace log? I assume that as

d3d_caps error
Hello all,
I just installed Linux Mint Debian Edition, which I have used in the past with Wine, and I'm trying to get Riven to run (which, again, I've used with Wine on this OS before). Wine isn't in the LMDE repository anymore for some reason, so I had to compile it myself (v. 1.2.3). I was able to install the game without a hitch, but when I try to run the EXE I get:

winetricks vcrun2005 does not appear to install system32 dll
I'm a newbie, sorry in advance :p I have been searching here and reading threads and can't seem to find an answer, hence this post. I saw a nice example of what I am trying to do so I'll copy that format and perhaps it will illustrate better than I can explain. I'm using Ubuntu Hardy, 64bit.
My only goal currently is to install the redist, using winetricks is the proper method

Disc reading problem...
I have a certain Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast disc that I am trying to load an autorun.exe off of with wine, but with a peculiar problem: the game executable is labeled "AUTORUN.EXE;1", along with many other files of a similar suffix. When I try to run it, wine works for a bit then gives up, showing no screen or other indication. I then tried to rename the exe and other files

FWIW...
Thomas, the "xorriso.exe" files that are available are not really

dinput_test works but WINEDEBUG shows no joystick for game?
This is a continuation/evolution of what I've been trying to do, get some response from my controller(s) in Guitar Hero 3. I compiled wine (with some help :) and manually copied the dinput_test.exe.so file into my /usr/lib32/wine directory and made it's permissions match the other exe.so files (644). I then run the test to see if dinput is seeing/reacting to my controller, and it seems

Noob trying to ./configure Wine source, config.log error
I've been searching here and at the ubuntu forums and can't seem to find a solution, I think it's pretty simple though. I've checked for libc6 and libc6-dev and they both appear to be installed, IIRC they fixed a previous ./configure issue I had with some other source.

Problems running the game GUN from Neversoft.
Hello!
I have installed Wine 0.9.55 (pretty sure of that) on my Mandriva 2008.
I tried to install the game GUN from Neversoft. (It works fine on windows Vista). On the distribution it says that it is compatible on Windows 2000 and XP.
But when I try to install it it seems to work, but when I try to run it I get an error in a popup.
Right now I'm at office and do not exactly remember the

Some dsound oddness
I had noticed a few weeks ago that sound for me on Riven was now having
problems. It used to be almost perfect, but now it was suddenly doing
things like changing pitch and speed, losing sync with the video, and
breaking up.
Of course I initially suspected a regression, though no one else
mentioned problems. I just now got around to spending a bit more time on
it and found it was not a

Wine on Windows 7... Anyone actually tried?
Oi.
So. Now we have a version of windows that actually has legit uses for wine.
Windows 7 can't run horrifyingly outdated 16bit programs(Such as Exile Escape from the Pit) period. Atleast so Ive herd--and tried and seen to seem to be true. Not to mention a multitude of programs that SHOULD run--but just dont like it(Worms Armageddon, for one... though dunno if it works on wine)
Also.

I've got the following problem:
I'm playing myst 3 Exile in wine-1.1.2 on ubuntu 8.04

This last point does not seems to work because
when I play myst, once the mouse has entered the wine window,
I then can not leave anymore : the cursor won't get out of the

Booting UDF?
Greetings,
I wonder whether there are any plans to build udflinux or the likes.
I've searched through the mailing list, finding out that should I create
a mixed ISO9660/UDF filesystem.
Unfortunately, that is not an option if I want to use a significant
feature of UDF filesystem, which is writing. Making a mixed ISO9660/UDF,
using mkisofs -udf, will (to my best knowledge) not allow me to
