Huhu, I installed MS Freelancer via PlayOnLinux, but I have some graphics lags ingame/the game was redicoulus slow, I also wasn't really able to start a new game since the game hang up (kinda. It just didn't wanted to finish loading) One idea of me would be that it still runs in DX mode, how can I change it to OpenGL? On a side note, I have enough ressources to run the game at windows.

Hello. This thread is to help anyone having problems with using EPSXE psx emulator in WINE. EPSXE can work in WINE, only if you install directx in WINE. WINE alone does not have directx installed with it but EPSXE requires directx to function. You would need to install directx using any game which has "Install DirectX" or something similar. I just installed steam+TMN and it seems to run quite well apart from sound. I tried switching to OSS and got not sound while on ALSA I get the occasional "click" and thats about it. Other software I have run through wine is WAR beta and WoW both of which play sound fine, so I suspect maybe Steam is holding up the sound device or something? I am on Ubuntu Hardy. i've upgraded ubuntu from 7.10 to 8.04 and now the pulseaudio doesnt get along with wine. from my limited knowledge wine doesnt sent the sound correctly at pulseaudio(?) i've found out this link (http://blog.paulbetts.org/index.php/2007/05/27/make-wine-and-pulseaudio-get-along/) which explains a work around. Well the title says it all Im having some trouble attempting to install Direct X 9 I know WINE does not support Direct X so I am using Winetricks in an attempt to install it. Ever since 1.1.27, I've been having problems with what I think is directx. I updated to 1.1.29 (I skipped .28) and I still get the same errors.
