Using Endnote X1 under wine
Hi,
I recently started to use Endnote under wine (0.9.57 with Ubuntu 7.10). So far it runs without major problems, however it crashes occasionally (see bug 12075: http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=12075).
I am interested to hear from other endnote users and their experiences, especially whether you run it together with word or openoffice and why (I have not made up my mind yet).
Thanks

R endnote entry
I know citation() gives the R citation to be used in publications. Has
anyone put this into endnote nicely? I'm not very experienced with
endnote, and the way I have it at the momeny the 'R Development Core
Team' becomes R. D. C. T. etc.
Cheers.

Key mapping problem (Endnote)
Dear fellow Wine users,
It was to my recent delight that I found that EndNote 3 will
work usably under Wine. However, it does seem to display
a slightly odd problem when certain keys are pressed.
In essence, the problem seems to be that certain keys,
when pressed, generate two keystrokes. So for example,
pressing RETURN moves down two lines, pressing BACKSPACE
deletes two characters, pressing

problem with installing endnote demo
Dear folks:
I would like to install Endnote 9 trial under wine. According to
Frankscorner.org it should work (see http://www.frankscorner.
org/index.php?p=endnote9).
But when I execute the command:
WINEDLLOVERRIDES="msi,msiexec.exe=n" wine ENDemo.EXE,
I get the following result:
err:module:import_dll Library msi.dll (which is needed by L"C:
\\windows\\system\\msiexec.exe")

RCurl and Google Scholar's EndNote references
Hi!
I've performed a Google Scholar Search using a query, let's say "Frank
Harrell", and parsed the links to the EndNote references from the resulting
HTML code. Now I'd like to download all the references automatically. For
this, I have tried to use RCurl, but I can't seem to get it working: I
always get error code "403 Forbidden" from the web server.

MS Access, Endnote, among others
Hello,
Has anybody been able to successfully install MS Office XP Pro in Wine? I
don't care much about the whole suite, I need MS Access, but since I have
a bundled cd, I don't have much choice. Apparently several folks have had
similar problems in this list, and I haven't found solutions. Wine-version
is 0.0.20041201-1 Debian unstable package.
I'm not sure I'm starting the

error "compressed file wasn't extractet" but file exists
I am trying to update EndNote X1 with a patch that improves the handling of odt files (patch and info at http://www.endnote.com/support/ENX101_Win_updater.asp). Wine (0.9.60) crashes on installation with the message:

[text][index](url) syntax
Hi there! I wanted to drop a line on the markdown syntax used for links:
When i reference to [some website][1] and want to do [the same reference][1] later ai can only do this in endnote style (or howeer it's called). What i would want to be able to do is to make [an inline reference to a website][2](http://anotherexample.com) and be able to reuse [that reference][2] just the same.

Whitespace, whitespace everywhere, but none for WINE
Dear All,
Yesterday I installed WINE on my Debian GNU/Linux machine. I obtained the
program packages from Andreas Schuldei's site, and the winesetuptk package
from Ove Kaven's. Although my machine is dual boot, I am also trying out
the "WINE without Windows" option, ie by creating a /c directory in the
Linux partition.
Little apps (Notepad, Minesweeper, calc, puTTY, etc.)

publication statistics from Web of Science
Dear list,
This is a bit of an off-topic question, but I'm hoping to get some
advice from more experienced people. I've used the website "Web of
Science" to manually collect publication counts responding to several
keywords as a function of date, since the 1960s.

Indexing in anova summary output of the form: summary(aov(y ~ x1, Error = (x1/x2)))
Hi, there
I'm trying to get the value of the Mean Square from the ANOVA model
summary that comes from specifying the error term, and am wondering if
one can actually do this ( I know it's possible when using anova(lm)
objects and the like, but I'm having a tough time with it under this
framework). There does appear to be some indexing in the output of this
type, but perhaps not

the difference between "x1" and x1
Hello,
I am not sure what to write in the subject line, but I would like to take
a character string that is a variable in a data frame and apply a function
that takes a numeric argument to this character string.
Here is a simplified example that would solve my problem.
Imagine I have my data stored in a data frame.
