Ubuntu users, please upgrade to Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy for Wine 0.9.60 and later
To prevent conflicts when upgrading to 8.04, older releases will no
longer be getting Wine updates. Ubuntu Hardy will be released this
Thursday, and contains many fixes that also affect Wine, such as support
for some missing libraries in the 64 bit version.
By default, Ubuntu's update manager will disable third party
repositories on upgrade, which will leave you with the Wine included in

Problems when attempting to build wine from source on Ubuntu
I am trying to build Wine from source on an X64 Hardy Ubuntu system in order to do some regression testing. I am having trouble however to build the dependencies for that.
I already did these a while ago, but I re-applied just in case the instructions from this page for the apt repository http://www.winehq.org/site/download-deb. I constantly get this error:

Font display problem with Text in UML-Notes of Enterprise Architect (wine-1.1.3 in Ubuntu Hardy)
Hi,
I'm having medium success with Enterprise Architect 7.1 in wine.
While crossover-office-6.0.0 (in Ubuntu Edgy) is able to display the fonts in
the:
+ Key-Store Config dialog (where you have to enter the product keys)
+ UML diagram (class diagram) NOTES-Item
-
this does NOT work with wine-1.1.3 and also the last wine version before 1.0
in Ubuntu (different versions).

need help installing new Wine version on Debian Etch
I want to install a new version of Wine because the one I installed with apt-get in Debian is quite old and buggy (0.9.25).
So after doing "apt-get uninstall wine", I followed this guide (http://www.winehq.org/site/download-deb), to install a newer wine version but encountered a few problems:
1. the guide says

Followup: SOLVED Re: Font display problem with Text in UML-Notes of Enterprise Architect (wine-1.1.3 in Ubuntu Hardy)
Hi again,
I was able to solve my problem with installation of the both native RichText
Libraries. This URL pointed me to the solution:
http://ubuntu-virginia.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=4614684
--> sh winetricks riched20 riched30
==> installs and activates both RichText NATIVE Libraries
--> now I can install and use EA without problem

wine git hardy systray issue
I'm totally stumped. I'm running Hardy Heron and wine from git (I just
updated about 3 hours ago) and I'm having the systray issue where wine apps
in the systray just show up as blank space and you cannot interact with the
systray icon.
This issue was supposedly fixed in 0.9.60 and backported into the Hardy
repos, but no matter what I do I can't get it fixed. I've tried the

Wine deb repositories
Hi,
http://www.winehq.org/site/download-deb shows that users should get latest

wine.budgetdedicated.com resolves to 88.159.206.7, 81.171.111.184 and
2001:4de0:aaac:0:2456::2. 88.159.206.7 is dropping connections.
81.171.111.184 is not available. I don't use ipv6.

Ubuntu Hardy + Wine + WoW = corrupted graphics
Hello all,
I've got a laptop w/ an "Intel Corporation Mobile 945GM/GMS, 943/940GML"
graphics card (I know, Intel sucks) running Ubuntu Hardy and Wine
0.9.61~winehq0~ubuntu~8.04-1.
I've had problems getting World of Warcraft to run under wine before, so
when I upgraded to Hardy I thought I would try it again. At least in
the past I could run WoW using the built-in d3d

Problems with Wine on Debian
Hello all,
I am fairly new to Linux, so I hope that the following problem is not just me being ... new to Linux.
I have been trying to install Wine on Debian (Etch 4.09 I think it is called). I first tried to use the
apt-get install Wine
command followed by the winecfg (creating the .wine folder), but when I tried to run the notepad.exe (i.e. with the command wine

wine upgrade 1.1.9 broke program
I have a Ubunu 8.04.1 system that has been running a package under wine with no problems since last June.
A few days ago I ran the software upgrade program and it moved wine from 1.1.7 to 1.1.9 and this package no longer works. When the program starts it needs to contact a server and that portion fails.
Can someone tell me how to return to the 1.1.7 version of wine. Or alternatively point me at

Unable to access Debian repository.
Yesterday evening, I became unable to access http://wine.budgetdedicated.com/ . This has firstly become inaccessible to me for the purpose of finding out from the Web pages, whether version 0.9.59 has been adapted as binaries for Debian yet, which I personally need as a user of Kanotix, because the whole index can't be called up.
But in addition right now, an 'apt-get update' fails

Ubuntu DEB Packages for Hardy?
Hi,
I'm still running Ubuntu Hardy and I will upgrade when Lucid comes out. I just wish to know when the latest DEB files will come out? Wine updates seem to have stopped at wine-1.1.39.
Please support Hardy until Lucid comes out. It's still the latest LTS.

games:COH/C in wine
I know that City of Heroes/Villains doesn't work in wine right now and I
couldn't find much on the wine website that looked like anyone was
actively working on it, but I am very interested in playing this game in
Linux.
I have zero programming skills, but I do have some free time and would
be more than happy to test stuff out and give feedback and/or to hunt
through forums and google

However that repo is no longer being updated for Hardy. I suggest the website give the PPA as repo instead of budgetdedicated.

Wine has stopped working??
I'm not sure exactly when it happened, but all of a sudden none of my wine applications work, including winecfg!
Looking at the output below, I have a feeling it's something to do with the printers? In fact, I seem to recall it worked for running AcrossLite one day recently, then crashed while I was trying to print from the application, then hasn't worked since... any ideas?
