Depressed amd64 user...
Hi, I recently built my new graphics workstation with the express idea of using Linux, Wine, and an AutoCAD clone called IntelliCAD. http://intellicadms.com/ Running Ubuntu 9.04 (Jaunty) on my old Intel system with Wine works just fine. IntelliCAD functions beautifully. However, when I installed the above on my all-new AMD Phenom II X4 955 system, IntelliCAD simply does not launch. I use: -

SQL Based playlist plugin
I know that there are capabilities to write plugins in PERL and Python, but I don't like either. I have written a playlist manager and randomizer, but I am having problems understanding how to integrate the proggy as a plugin into ices.. Can anyone point me a to a good reference? Wine NT Services / Serial Port
Hi! I'm currently working on a project to upgrade my car's display with NAV... Due to prohibitive high costs of oem solutions (and limited use except for nav), I decided to use a laptop, runnig that software... So, I already have MS Autoroute 2001 (european version). Against my expectations, this program runs fine with Wine release 20011004. However, the GPS Add-In doesn't work.

Agent under Wine
Agent NNTP client from Forte. I know that it works in Wine according to Agent NG, but I keep getting an "unknown error". Suse 11.3 New to Wine - I am starting proggy simply by going into the Wine explorer and double click the .exe file. Is this correct? -- John Phillips, Fashion Fair Pty Ltd -- Sent via Telstra Blackberry --

vixie cron 3.0.1 continued
The problem with vixie cron is wider (and more funny) than I expected. Here''s my proggy which allows hiding files of any kind and size into crontab entries (remember, quota is ignored ;-): -- cron_put -- #!/bin/bash echo "Vixie cron 3.0.1 file storage - put utlility" echo "by Michal Zalewski <lcamtuf@staszic.waw.pl>" echo if [ "$1" = "" ];

program doesn't work, wine returns without message
Hi List, I'm new to wine so please forgive me if I ask silly questions. I have a program here called matikus.exe which is some mathematical education program for kids. It runs under Win98, but I don' want to reboot my linux box (ubuntu 5.10 on AMD K6-2 500) just for that single win proggy. This program resides on CD and when I start it under wine I just get the prompt back after some

Member Server in Active Directory
I'm trying to join a Samba 3.0.4 (compiled from source on Debian) to an Active Directory as a member server. I believe Kerberos is configured correctly as kinit creates a ticket for the realm. Executables appear to have support for Kerberos and LDAP (smbd -b | grep KRB and grep LDAP) return OK. When I try to join the AD with net ads join -U myadminusername I'm prompted for my

accuracy of GLM dispersion parameters
I'm confused as to the trustworthiness of the dispersion parameters reported by glm. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Context: I'm interested in using a fitted GLM to make some predictions. Along with the predicted values, I'd also like to have estimates of variance for each of those predictions. For a Gamma-family model, I believe this can be done as Var[y] =

Rep:Wine Setup
Sorry, I'm new to this group, therefore I couldn't answer until now. I think I may have some answers, all related to Wine source distrib, but they should be adaptable to CodeWeavers Wine: 1) Don't know... 2) for uninstalling win32 apps, you have to use "uninstaller". This program is in ./program/uninstaller from the wine source tree. It is very easy to install actually:

object not found - Can not figure out why I get this error: Error in NROW(yCoordinatesOfLines) : object 'low' not found
Hi, I have been using R for over a year now. I am a very happy user. Thank you for making this happen. This is my first question to this list. I trying to add some functions to quantmod that would enable me to draw arbitrary lines and text and make sure they are redrawn. I have created following function: require(quantmod) # Add horizontal line to graph produced by quantmod::chart_Series()

Wine Setup
Still have these questions: CWp3 winedbg symlink is broken. How to fix? I am hearing that in order to deinstall a Windows program, you must compile a certain proggie from the sources. It doesn't seem to come with CWWine. Best avenue? I chose Desktop mode, as I need two apps running simultaneously. Freedom, which is my privacy app and netscape-mail must run together, as mail is fetched

Play! 2.0 (Scala) or RubyOnRail (Ruby)?
Hi ruby community, It has been months after much experimenting RubyOnRail but it wasn''t chosen for my Enterprise project. Recently, I heard some of my friends argue that RubyOnRail is Enterprise-class framework which perform much better than PHP. IMHO, I think Play! 2.0 (Scala) can offer more than just a framework and high-performance. What are your thought on these comparison? -- You

advapi32.dll
Hello, Have solved all my problems with WINE, but one, which seems harder ;-) I have to run a little proggie "filesign.exe", and the lil bastartd relies heavily on advapi32.dll crypto stuff, (CryptAcquireContextA(), for example). From what I read on the code (dlls/advapi32/crypt.c), most of this functions are stubs, so no luck (it crashes all over with the return FALSEs) So, I tried

Hi, I would like to ask if anyone had a success running Windows as VMX guest on a motherboard with Intel 8xx, Sis 661FX or Via P4M800 or P4M800 Pro chipsets for socket 775. I briefly succeded running Windows XP on PCChips P21G motherboard with Pentium D 930 but now starting WMX guest freezes the machine. I think it has something to do with the motherboard becaue I was not able to boot from IDE
