Is it dom-0 (nfs or loop-back)? I looked in dom-0''s /var/log/messages and didn''t see any obvious record of a dom-0 whoopsie (but is that the right place to look

CentOS 5.2 - Nautilus - file types are not associated with an action and icons are not displayed
Hi all, I use CentOS 5.2 as a desktop and the Gnome Nautilus doesn't display icons related to the file types and all associated actions ("open with") are lost. It is so bad, that the desktop shortcuts are displayed as ordinary files "Filesystem.desktop" or "openoffice.org-1.9-calc.desktop", and when I click on them, the Nautilus wants to know what it should

Winetricks deleted most of my hard drive
Immediately after running winetricks a month ago, several very important directories disappeared from my hard drive, and despite paying a lot of money to good data recovery company, I have not been able to recover them. I have searched this forum and elsewhere for evidence of this happening to anyone else with no result. Is it at all possible that the script deleted my directories by accident

Can't browse network using nautilus
Hi, I'n using the nautilus file browser in a GNOME desktop environment on a FC2 system. If I enter smb:/// in the location bar in nautilus I can see the network but whenever I try to look at the shares on a computer I get a message saying that I do not have permissions to view the contents. I looked in the archives and found a thread on a similar problem. This thread mentioned that

problems with windows-lnk-files
hello, on Windows XP I created some directories and files - and some links (.lnk-files) to files and directories and saved them on a ntfs-disk. Now I want to use it in Debian (testing, Gnome) but the links won't work. When working in Nautilus 2.26..3 there just a little window appears telling me, that there is no application installed to view this file. If I want to "open with"

Can't unmount floppy
Using the Disk Management GUI. I mounted the floppy copied a file to it by dragging from one Nautilus window to another Then I tried to unmount the floppy and got an error that the device (/media/floppy) was busy. This is not the first time this has happened to me. And it does not happen all the time. In fact, yesterday I did the exact same steps with no problem.

Nautilus / Desktop Icons
Hi, I've a nautilus problem with CentOS 4. It doesn't show the desktop items any more (also after dropping all gnome files/dirs from a users homedir) en the right mouse button menu also doesn't work. Googling around I've found various items about the problem but until now not a clear solution. Some people mention some 'browser mode in nautilus preferences'. But I

vgrename, lvrename
Hi, I want to rename some volume groups and logical volumes. I was not surprised when it would not let me rename active volumes. So I booted up the system using the CentOS 5.5 LiveCD, but the LiveCD makes the logical volumes browsable using Nautilus, so they are still active and I can't rename them. Tried: /usr/sbin/lvchange -a n VolGroup00/LogVol00 but it still says: LV

Wine aborts setup.exe for weird reason: Need a FIX
Wine aborts setup.exe: Why? WINE can't see setup.LST file during installation of simple win ME app I'm installing eX-Sense Pro under wine in Natty. It's a simple win me/win xp application. The setup.exe runs fine, but wine seems to not see setup.LST - another file in the same directory: Setup cannot find C:\users\redwood\Temp\boom1000\setup.LST. Setup is aborting... During

Mounting NFS file systems via Nautilus on CentOS 6
Looks like Nautilus is periodically 'stat'-ing the bookmark location. How about making a softlink to the target dir in your home directory, then bookmarking the link in nautilus. Hopefully Nautilus will stat the link and not the target then. K

[Polly] Reduced code analyzability moving from LLVM 3.9.0 to 5.0.1
Hi Johannes, Perfect, thanks! The CFG now looks very similar to what I got on LLVM 3.9.0 ([1] vs [2]). Any idea why setting -simplifycfg-sink-common=false is necessary? Similar to LLVM 5.0.1, the default for 3.9.0 is true [3], and setting it to false wasn't necessary in the latter version.
