I've got a Brother HL-L2360D series printer connected to Centos 7. CUPS lists it as Generic PCL6/PCL Printer - CUPS+Gutenprint v5.2.9 . When I tell it to print a pdf file, it prints at most the first page. After powering the thing off and turning it on again, it printed page 3 of pages 3-6 . On trying it again, the thing claimed it was receiving data and printed page 3 of pages 3-6 again.

Hi, I have print$ setup and points to /var/lib/samba/printers. I have printer_admin and write_list access. /var/lib/samba/printers is setup with 755 for root:root. When I tried to add/upload new drivers to print$ in W2K I get access denied. Would someone please give me a few pointers please? Regards, Norman

OK, I've tried changing my printcap name from printcap to cups. Printing works fine locally using CUPS on the Samba box. What am I missing here? Why can't I print to the Samba box via the Windows and linux clients? Shared directories work fine. I am really frustrated here and have exhausted Google and all other resources I have. Here's my smb.conf for what it's worth.

Before I start, I know this isn't a Samba-related issue but it seems to be a widespread enough problem that someone else may have figured out a Samba-oriented workaround, or any other solution for that matter. Does anyone know of a way just to add that particular driver to 1.6.7, or will it require removing the standard 1.6.7 and doing a custom install of 1.7.2. I've finally gotten wine (codeweavers) to work with my non-Windows system. I can run Lotus Notes without many problems and can even print to my postscript printer with WINEPS.DRV, but I need to remember to change the page size from A4 to Letter each time I restart Notes (or any other app).
