failed to find NT AUTHORITY domain log message during backup windows
It sounds as though there are files on your servers owned by a UID or GID (most probably a GID) that is not in /etc/group, and is being looked up and "reverse resolved" to 'NT AUTHORITY\Authenticated Users', but this somehow doesn't map back the other way, i.e. from a name to a GID. Can you narrow it down and perhaps use the 'find' command to see what UID/GID this

failed to find NT AUTHORITY domain log message during backup windows
Greetings! I'm running domain member fileservers on Samba 4.3.6.. During my backup window (backups are performed via Bacula, running on the fileserver) I tend to receive spurts of the following log message: Apr 10 16:55:18 smbfs1 winbindd[2376]: [2016/04/10 16:55:18.111192, 0] ../source3/winbindd/winbindd_group.c:45(fill_grent) Apr 10 16:55:18 smbfs1 winbindd[2376]: Failed to find domain

A question about rsync
Hi: I really want to know how rsync works. Once it synchronize a file. Does rscync first create a temporary in the remote machine first and then rename it? Or it direct write the difference into the dest-file? Could you please tell me what will happen to the dest-file when a rsync process interrupted by some problems(network problem etc ...)? Thanks for your help Best Regards

CALLERIDNUM not passed over?
When a user dials 999 he is always asked for the mailbox and has to enter his mailbox number and password. As I understand this shouldn't happen because the CALLERIDNUM is passed over to VoicemailMain. It's annoying to have to enter the number everytime ... The voice mail configuration is read from MySQL. We are using the CVS version from a few days ago. Extract from extensions.conf:

Simplified Voicemail app / keeping peace with cohabitants
Hello, I have modified the VoiceMailMain application to satisfy the request of the "local users", i.e., my wife. She lost patience with too many options (we have one mailbox, so we don't need to forward messages, or reply to messages, or file them in 6 different folders...) So the modified app says "Message 1", reads the message, "Message 2", reads...

making * more like a normal pbx (cisco ata-186)
I've done something similar at home, but made my dialplan such that I can dial either 10 or 11 digits locally. I don't use a "throw away" digit at all. Any 7, 10, or 11 digit call will be appropriately mangled and sent out the PSTN / VoIP provider. ________________________________ From: asterisk-users-admin@lists.digium.com [mailto:asterisk-users-admin@lists.digium.com] On

tdm400p static - out of ideas
Hello, Over the past several weeks, we have been having an intermittant problem with our deployment of a TDM400P card (4 fxo). ?We have tried many things, and the problem still re-occurs. The Problem: Occasionally (every 48 hours), the TDM400p card will stop answering incoming calls on ALL fxo ports. ?Attempts to send outbound calls on any Zap channel will result in hearing a loud

Has anyone gotten KDiff3 to work on CentOS 4.X?
The Subject: line says it all. I haven't been able to find a KDiff3 RPM (http://kdiff3.sourceforge.net) that will install on CentOS 4, and I am also having problems building it from source (the application that is, not the RPM). I have some users who really want to use KDiff3, so any help/hints are appreciated. Thanks, Alfred

Gotten getent to work but uid off by 1
I have gotten getent to work, but now the uid for files are off by one and some of the gid are off by 4 to 24. So if I copy from one system to another the file ownerships get changed all up. Any work around for this? idmap uid = 10000-20000 idmap gid = 10000-20000

Anyone gotten qemu to operate in bride network mode on centos 4
I have been asking on the qemu list how to get bridge network mode working under centos 4... To no avail. The following script is what I have tried as my /etc/qemu-ifup. It supposedly worked for fedora. #!/bin/sh # # qemu_up # # script to bring up the tun device in QEMU in bridged mode # # This script bridges eth0 and tap0. First take eth0 down, then bring it up with IP 0.0.0.0 # /sbin/ifdown

Things have gotten pretty quiet
Has the virtualization hooks work moved to another e-mail list? (Or maybe an IRC channel?) I've been meaning to actually help, but I've gotten distracted. Is there some specific area/set-of-files I can try to help with? I don't want to duplicate effort. John Byrne

Slightly OT: Has SILK codec gotten anywhere?
Hi, I stumbled upon mentions of a "SILK" codec last night on skypes "skype for sip" information page. I tried looking into it further and found some blog and mailing list posts from 2009 but I can't find any mentions of anything other than skype using the codec. Has the codec not gotten anywhere so far? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SILK

Tivo Desktop 2.1 - Anyone gotten this to work?
Searched the archives, and other then some discussion in March that ended with a log posting, I haven't seen anything on this. The Tivo Desktop software is the one thing that keeps me in a Windows world, and I'd REALLY like to move back to Linux :-) I'm familiar with JavaHMO and their replacement, Galleon. But while those allow you to copy shows to a Linux system, you can't play

Anyone ever gotten Solaris to install from a CentOS PXE server?
Yes and PXE booting the node worked just fine. It was quite some time ago and the process was rather straightforward. This is for x86_64 use-host-decl-names on; filename "/solaris/pxegrub"; next-server <TFTP SERVER IP>; vendor-option-space SUNW; option SUNW.JumpStart-server "<INSTALLATION SERVER IP>:/exports/Solaris/JUMPSTART/x86"; # BE WARNED: No hostnames.

Has anyone gotten SCO Openserver working under Xen?
So far, I''ve only found references to success under VMware. But has anyone managed it, with either the open source or commercial versions of Xen? I like Xen and have worked with it extensively for RHEL and CentOS, but it could save me a whole lot of hardware money if I can decommission some OpenServer hardware and store working OS''s under virtual images.

Has anyone gotten Fedora 12 running as a Xen guest?
I am running CentOS 5.4 (both i386 and x86_64 - different physical machines)... I've been able to get Fedora 11 running as a Xen guest - no trouble. However, I have had no luck with Fedora 12. My kickstart file lists /boot as ext3 - but for whatever reason Fedora 12 insists on making /boot ext4. I do have a bare metal machine running Fedora 12, so I thought "let me try to put

G723 - Has anyone gotten SIP_CODEC= to work?
FYI, asterisk DOES now support g723, but you have to pay for it: http://store.yahoo.com/asteriskpbx/asteriskg729.html -----Original Message----- From: Dan Fernandez <danfernandez00@hotmail.com> Date: Mon, 5 May 2003 17:33:05 -0300 To: asterisk-users@lists.digium.com Subject: [Asterisk-Users] Has anyone gotten SIP_CODEC= to work?
