wine-20050419 - where to set audio driver type?
Hi,
In a completely clean account that's never run Wine before I run
wine --version. Wine installs a new .wine directory but this Wine
directory has no config file. I looked in the 3 obvious files but none
of them seem to have an option for changing between OSS, Alsa and
JAck. where do I make this setting change now?
Thanks,

jack audio driver
hi there
i've been testing various windows audio apps with the latest wine
(specific questions relating to them on the way ... ), and so i've been
fiddling around with the WinMM and dsound settings in the config file.
i'm pretty sure that wineoss.drv works fine, along with winealsa.drv -
but what's the deal with winejack.drv?
i have jack installed, but if i select the jack

no jack option in audio selection
Hi everyone using Wine,
I'm having a problem getting wine to use jack for the audio driver. I have
compiled wine-0.9.47 from source and the jack headers are detected during
configuration. Yet, there is no option to choose jack as the audio driver
when using winecfg. I know of at least one other person who also has this
problem, who posted here

Wine1.4-rc5 breaks (jack)audio setup
Hi there,
since upgrading to wine1.4-rc-5, anytime that i either A). Launch
winecfg/audio-tab or B). Launch any wine app, Wine tries to open an
ALSA device and crashes Jackd. ~ the only exception would be
Festige/FST which will launch my wineVST instruments and work as
expected.
On my system, Jackd is the default Sound server (ie: i t runs ALL of

wine and jack => segfault?

Hi,
I am new to this list and just wanted to ask a question regarding Wine
and JACK:
I'm running JACK as my sound daemon and today I installed Wine (from the
APT-Repository). I setup my .wine directory with the help of winetools.
So far everything works fine, except sound output (tested with wmplayer
and a simple wav file). So I selected

Wine question - sort of... program that ran now crashes
Hi,
I run Gentoo on my audio box and for the last few weeks have been
using a fairly complex setup that uses Wine-20040505. In this
environment I am able to run small Windows apps called 'VSTs' under
Wine and using Jack for pretty much real time audio performance. It
had been working very well.
From a Linux perspective the signal flow looked a bit like:

JACK compatible SIP/IAX client (related : Asterisk JACK application)
Hello list,
I'm looking for a SIP/IAX client that would hook its audio on the JACK
audio server on the client host.
I first tried to use the Asterisk JACK application, installing an
Asterisk instance on the client host, but I got mitigated results : the
host runs a RT kernel (necessary for my use of JACK) but each time a new
call is started, it triggers Xruns. Not good. Also, during the call,

No Jack Realtime w/ Wine, Kontakt 4
Ubuntu 10.04. Wine 1.2
I'm running Native Instruments Kontakt 4 under Wine. It runs fine except for
occasional stutters, so I wanted to try enabling Realtime in Jack, but I have no
luck with this. (I have made recommended edits to the limits.conf file, though
I've read that this is no longer necessary(?):
@audio - rtprio 100, @audio - memlock 250000)
When I start up Kontakt, I see

Jack in /usr/local/ means failure for asterisk
Hi,
I have been headbanging with asterisk and Jack for a while, decited to
ask other linuxists for an advice.
The problem is that Jack is compiled from source (0.118) in /usr/local/, but
menuselect says "XXX" for it (cannot enable it). I need jack...
Otherwise I will inotify Monitor WAVs, what is bad :`(
After installing jack from sources:

jack
Installing alsa and jack libraries places devices for these in the winecfg
menus. If I choose jack, what I would expect is that the wine instance would
init jack clients for audio in and out and midi in and out (not really jack
but jack can connect these as well). The jack out clients might be connected
to the default alsa device, etc. This is normal for jack aware applications.

jack built into wine?
I have read several places that wine has some level of built in jack support. can someone please comment on what exactly is built into wine in terms of Jack capability?
I already know about wineasio.
But I am wondering if its possible to use the windows version of jack inside if wine...and somehow have that patch the audio out to the rest of the linux/osx system via wine's jack
