sequencer (sound)
Greetings!
Hope this is the right forum.
Got the 20040309 wine source, built it, installed it.
Seemns to work reasonably well.
However, when attempting to install/run games that are stated to be
working under wine (Caesar III, Railroad Tycoon II), I can install (in
the case of Caesar III, I get sound, none in RRTII). However, when
attempting to run Caesar, it hangs, and I get a blank

Video Codecs, Video Editing and Wine
I am trying to get a video editing application, Edit Studio 4, working
in wine. I think I have been successful except for previewing the
project once it is assembled.
When I click on the "play" button for the preview, the initial frame
plays for about two seconds, the screen then goes black and then, at the
end of the preview, the last frame shows as a still image. I'm pretty

DVSD
Hi,
I just upgraded to 10/31 version and i lost the way i was using DVSD (
DV Codec ) with programs like virtualdub. All the previous versions were
working well with the vidc.dvsd=dvc.dll in the system.ini file, the
10/31 version with virtualdub gives this : cannot locate decompressor
for format dvsd unknown.
Any one can help please?
Thanks

[OT] (newbie alert) - home DV video and Premiere?

Not as such, no. I think what you're looking for, for your purposes, is an
ACM codec, to produce Vorbis data wrapped in a RIFF-WAV header. For use in
WAV and AVI and the like.
I did come across such a beast a while back, but I think it had trouble
recognizing/decoding RC2-encoded data.

(newbie alert) - home DV video and Premiere?
Howdy. I'm sorry if this has been discussed already, I missed it. (Just
point me to the right archive if there is such a thing?)
<p>Q1) Is there an easy "setup.exe" or similar, to install the Vorbis codec
into Windows?
Q2) Would that codec then be available under Adobe Premiere (or Windows
Media Player for that matter)?

Lossless audio codecs for video editing
Hi,
this email is sent to flac-dev AT xiph DOT org, copied to matroska-devel
AT lists DOT matroska DOT org, and David Bryant, the author of Wavpack4.
We are about to implement the DV ( Digital Video ) video compression
standard into matroska, to be able to offer an intelligent alternative
to AVI for DV handling in editor tools. DV is using a high quality, high
bitrate lossy video compression

[Invalid ELF header] GSM audio codec in Ventrilo
Hi all,
I'm trying to run Ventrilo (voice chat) on WINE.
I have the latest version of wine.
I installed correctly Ventrilo.
Now I have to setup it to use the GSM 6.10 codec.
I read on-line that I only need to add "MSACM.msgsm610=msgsm32.acm" to
the system.ini file, and add the file in the /system directory.
I did it, but when I choose the codec GSM I get an error:

Is anyone aware of a site that has a downloadable video clip that was created

Wine - DX app - black screen
Hi
Just trying to get Your attention again ;]
I'm still trying to launch SEF2000 on my wine, this time I got some
debugging info on the case.
I launch it from the c:\did\PROGRAM directory (I moved it so to try and
keep out errors with bad dirname, spaces etc, but as tested on a
windows, it works so too) with:
export LC_ALL=C
export LANG=C
export WINEDEBUG=err+all,warn+all,fixme+all

Quality of vp3.2 codec?
How good is the video compression in vp3.2?
For example, how does it compare (bit rate & quality) to mpeg1, mpeg2,
Divx, real Video 8+, Windows Media, etc. etc.
It being open source is nice and all, but if it can't be reasonably
competitive then there isn't much point to it.
I just haven't seen anything that compares vp32 to anything else.
(Although to be honest, I haven't

Re: [vorbis-dev] ACM codec
My concern is primarly the 'marketing' aspect. If UCI, or MCF, or any other interface, is adopted by the toolmakers, then that's a perfectly good solution.

video source
In order to experiment with the theora encoder, I bought a mini-DV camcorder a
couple of weeks ago; a Panasonic PV-GS9 for $250. I wanted a mini-DV because
it is claimed that capturing video from the camcorder to a computer over a
firewire cable results in an exact copy of the recorded video.
That was not my experience. The video I captured to my computer over the
firewire cable, using both

Xiph QT Theora Codec
Taking a look ahead at your QT (OSX version) work, you have Theora
Encoding and Decoding on the list. This could be very beneficial as
many times the only way to get a constant frame-rate out of QT is to
export (and for DV video recorded in QT, this can be a large issue).
Another major issue is that the video coming from DV (at least the
sources I have used) is almost always

FairUse Wizard Doesn't See DivX Codec
Hi all at the Wine Forum. This is my first post so apologies if my question is foolish. I'm quite new to Linux and totally new to Wine. I'm running Wine under Ubuntu Hardy 8.04 and have installed FairUse Wizard 2.8 to see if it will run. It's the full version which was released for free earlier this year and I've been using it successfully in Windows XP. I want to dump Windows but

I think you're right. When I play video-a1v7x352y240.ogg, some of the
artifacts I noticed in the firewire captured video.dv are no longer there.
The *.dv video is sharper, but the *.ogg video, at 1/16th the size,
