Supervoice 2.6 comms program (for fax and voice etc) in wine
Has anybody had experience with installing Supervoice (2.6) fax/voice software in wine? I've installed it apparently OK (although I do seem to remember getting some error on installation) - it seems to start to run OK, but with some glitches! Each time, it wants to re-detect and configure the modem - why?! Also, it shows me the messages (fax and voice) which were stored in the modem (USR 56K

Help for the Net Services Mail Server
This is an automatic response triggered when mailserv@netservs.com can't understand a message you sent to it. It's also sent out in response to a "help" command. The Net Services Mail Server sends out files by e-mail. Files currently available are: mrcooli.exe "Mr.Cool", a W95/NT program for downloading files from slow sites. (Windows 95/98/NT)

Running NT service (daemon)?
With WINE, I would like to try FileMaker Server 5 which runs as an NT service. Does WINE support NT services? I found this issue discussed only in WWN 163 from 2003 <http://www.winehq.com/site/?issue=163>. The discussion focused on security, which is not important in my situation. The service is used on a firewalled LAN, and it shouldn't require user switching. I'm not familiar

running office 2000 under wine without windows
Everyone: I downloaded and installed wine-20011108 from source. I am running slackware 8.0 with kernel 2.4.5. I tried installing office 2000 from the CD and captured the resulting error messages. Basically, the setup.exe is complaining about the lack of a "windows installer." Does anyone know any way around this? I recall some trick involving internet explorer being discussed the

Wine NT Services / Serial Port
Hi! I'm currently working on a project to upgrade my car's display with NAV... Due to prohibitive high costs of oem solutions (and limited use except for nav), I decided to use a laptop, runnig that software... So, I already have MS Autoroute 2001 (european version). Against my expectations, this program runs fine with Wine release 20011004. However, the GPS Add-In doesn't work.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling wine, but it didn't work. below is the response from running the command "winecfg" in the terminal. Code: myron at ubuntu:~$ winecfg

Wine 2001.11.08, FreeBSD 4.{2,4}, Lightwave 5.6 Screamernet Node
Sorry for the limited detail here. To make matters worse, I don't have access to the machines in question any more. But perhaps someone would be able to give me some pointers to useful avenues to pursue. I'm trying to use Wine on FreeBSD (versions 4.2 and 4.4), to act as a Lightwave 5.6 render node, using Lightwave's ScreamerNet software. The software is for NT 4.0. This software

WoW Tunneling services in Wine?
G'day guys, I'm a long time WoW windows xp player and have recently made the switch to Wine/Ubuntu. I normally use a WoW tunnelling service (Lowerping, Battleping or Smoothping) to lower my WoW ping from the 400's to the 200's. (I'm in Australia which is why pings are so high) Although I've managed to get WoW up and running in Wine just fine (no hardware cursor yet but

W2K Services connecting to Samba Share
We are running an HP/UX 11.0 server that is sharing out a filesystem. We used to share it out via NFS and have NFS NT clients map this drive and then perform a network share of it. This allows our application (which runs as an NT/W2K Service) to see this drive and use it. With Samba, I was able to create a batch file that I could run as a service to perform the drive mapping, but because I am
