Found and fixed some confide and more permission problems with winecheck. Wine registry problem
I just installed the rpm of Wine (latest version) on my Redhat 7 box, and I'm having some problems. When I run wine, I get this error: Warning: could not find wine.conf [Drive x] entry for current working directory /home; starting in windows directory. There is a wine.conf in the /home directory. I ran winecheck to see what the problem was, but it just spit out a few more errors. The top

win98 trashed & !$!$ files
Wine (20000213-1) has apparently trashed my win98. Many files seemed to have been moved to directories named !$!$!$!$.*. Windows starts, but almost nothing works since programs have been moved to these to these directories. Any help in fixing the situation will be greatly appreciated. This is on RedHat 6.2 (2.2.14). winecheck gives This script verifies the configuration of the whole Wine

What's the current equivalent of winecheck?
I've been trying to help someone install wine on a Vector Linux system and it appears to install correctly, but there are loads of problems. The fixme statements are exactly the same as for another installation on a different distribution (Mandriva Linux) which works correctly and exhibits none of the same problems. There used to be a utility called winecheck which one could run to check the

Ikernel not launching
Hi all, I recently installed SuSE 8.2 and I'm trying to get Wine to work. I used winesetuptk to configure it and winecheck gave me a very encouraging 98% on my configuration (only a few simple problems like floppy not being writeable). I'm trying to get dreamweaver MX to work so after reading the instructions in www.frankscorner.org I installed DCOM98 and ran the wine command as he

sequencer (sound)
Greetings! Hope this is the right forum. Got the 20040309 wine source, built it, installed it. Seemns to work reasonably well. However, when attempting to install/run games that are stated to be working under wine (Caesar III, Railroad Tycoon II), I can install (in the case of Caesar III, I get sound, none in RRTII). However, when attempting to run Caesar, it hangs, and I get a blank

Desperately trying to build a wine.conf
Hi there, I am desperately trying to build a suitable wine.conf, but somehow I just don't manage to. I have been reading through different wine documentation and help pages. I used winecheck to try to figure out what is wrong. However, winecheck tells me constantly that I have to configure the paths of my drives in a special way: /my/mount/point. I tried to apply that (of course not
