Sharing GDI printers
Hi guys, Can someone explain why sharing a GDI printer (think Laserjet 1000/1005/1020 for example) is so unreliable? I'm not moaning about Samba - I just want to understand. I have seen this several times. I get the printer working fine under Linux, then print to it through Samba, also fine. But then I get a call a day later "we can't print" and when I get there the printer

Hello, I've wrote a program in win32 that does some drawing. After running it for a while it stops drawing the colors for the shapes I draw using GDI functions and it throws multiple time this error: err:local:LOCAL_GetBlock not enough space in GDI heap 10bf for 36 bytes The WM_PAINT message looks like this: GetClientRect (m_pMainWnd->m_hWnd, &rc); hdc = BeginPaint

GDI Printer problem
Hi, we have a new printer here (OKI C5650). It's a GDI printer attached to our cups server. I installed the windows driver as root on the print share without any problems. However it's not working. When a user maps the printer only a message appears "printing not possible". So I looked at the printserver and compared everything with a local printer on my XP notebook and found

VP3/QT: Fix for QuickTime 6 GDI bug
QuickTime 6 for Windows breaks the VP3 codec quite severely--if you turn on "Safe Mode" (which forces QuickTime to draw through GDI), you'll see a white or black screen instead of video. This is logged as bug #2111990 in Apple's QuickTime feedback system. The fix is a classic one-liner, although it took me a long time to figure it out. :-/ Also attached is a patch to bump the

GDI and MSCMS Color Management Patch
I've made some kind of patch for wine: http://www.megafileupload.com/en/file/275963/dlls-tar-gz.html this tar includes two edited files from wine's dlls directory. It repairs problems with displaying images with enabled color management created by gdi and mscms, for example in Pentax Photo Laboratory or SilkyPix Developer Studio. My information about this problem and previous solution

Programs using GDI and timers...
Does anyone know how to get programs using GDI and timers to update the display to work smoothly? I am using DeLorme street atlas on wine 20041108, and the real-time update of the screen does not work. The program seems to talk properly to the GPS, the data comes back, but the screen does not track when the GPS is moved. If I click on a button forcing the screen to update, the GPS is

Can't load GDI from background service
I am running a win32 application that has a graphics and command line mode; I use the command line mode. When I login and run from a terminal, it works fine under Wine, but when I run it as a service via a script in /etc/init.d, it fails. I have it set up so the service runs as my account, not root. It gives the following messages: Application tried to create a window, but no driver could be

many small files bug
Hi! I try to copy a lot of little files between a Linux and a Tru64 (I successfully compiled rsync on a tru64, it needed a little cosmetics), but it throws me this error (rsync 2.5.5 on both machines): 779300 files...rsync: error writing 4092 unbuffered bytes - exiting: Broken pipe rsync error: error in rsync protocol data stream (code 12) at io.c(463) The command line was: rsync -avzP -e ssh

R Commander and FactoMineR
Dear Users, I helped to install R Commander and FactoMineR to one of my collegaues. He wanted to do an MCA. Selecting three variables and using the default settings results in only one graph, the variables representation, where he gets three points for the three variables (which is totally fine). Running the code (output of the point-and-click method) EuTop100.MCA<-EuTop100[,

patch for combining detect-renamed and fileflags patches (fwd)
Dear collegaues, please evaluate the patch attached, which allow to use both --detect-renamed and --fileflags extra features. This is meta-patch which sould be applied to detect-renamed. fileflags patch should be applied first, following by the modified detect-renamed patch. It is included in current FreeBSD port, but it seems it would be much more useful to be supported by samba

dddraw unable to draw in CVS
Hi, I often build wine every 2 or 3 days from cvs source, and I recognize that there are updates around x11drv, ddraws, and d3d8/9 at these days. 4 or 5 days ago, where I found that ddraws are unable to draw at all (was still working wine 0.9.15) in some games/programs which use it. Ones use GDI and OpenGL seem fine. Here is an example of win32 binary which is Snes9x, an emulator of a console,

Wine - DX app - black screen
Hi Just trying to get Your attention again ;] I'm still trying to launch SEF2000 on my wine, this time I got some debugging info on the case. I launch it from the c:\did\PROGRAM directory (I moved it so to try and keep out errors with bad dirname, spaces etc, but as tested on a windows, it works so too) with: export LC_ALL=C export LANG=C export WINEDEBUG=err+all, warn+all, fixme+all wine
