35 second wait when cache expired
Hello,
I've got an issue with RHEL6 running smbd & winbindd version
3.6.9-168.el6_5. This is authenticating against a Windows 2008R2 domain
using the rid backend.
If I run any command that has to look up user info I get a 35 second delay,
after this initial delay it's fine until the cache time-out, then it
happens again.
This is making logins and most commands hang for 35 seconds

wine and alsa oss emulation with aoss
hi wine community,
i recently wrote to this list in my effort to get traktor dj studio to
work with wine. many thanks to robert reif, who got it fully working
with the wineoss driver and native oss. the problem was, that wineoss
needs mmap access to the soundcard to correctly initilize dsound. dsound
is needed for 4channel playback (master&headphone)
my configuration is fc2 with kernel

sudo issues after upgrading to samba/winbind 4.0.13 on Debian Wheezy
Hi
I have upgraded from samba 3.6.19 to samba 4.0.13 on Debian Wheezy
64-bit with Samba 4.0.13 from wheezy-backports. I use winbind to
authenticate against a two-server AD domain on Server 2012 functional
level and forced LDAPS.
After upgrading from 3.6.19 to 4.0.13 everything still works for me as
usual. That is samba shares authentication, all things relying on the
keytab, SSO logins with SSH

According to your questions

The smb.conf file was inherited from HP-UX system. Ok,
I'll remove them

wbindo slow
good morning everyone.
I apologize if it is recurrent. But not yet found a solution.
I have a problem of slowness when running "wbinfo -u" command. Analyzing
the outputs of "strace" command, I noticed some timeout.
After several searches, I found information that indicated remove dead
domains. I do not have these domains. I performed a fresh installation.
My scenario is a

dovecot 1.0.alpha4 hangs at auth
I'm using dovecot 1.0.alpha4 on a freebsd 5.3 i386 system. Dovecot is
configured to use mysql authentication and I'm running mysql 5.0.15 .
Everything works fine, but after a period of inactivity (20-30 minutes )
when I connect and try to authenticate it just hangs.
I noticed that the dovecot-auth worker process is not running anymore...
from looking at the source code I understand that

Deliver: command time exceed limit
We use Dovecot on a cluster (10'000 domains, 30'000 account) without
any problem with pop/imap. We use Dovecot 1.0 RC10
Now we use virtual transport from postfix for mail delivery.
We need the Dovecot LDA for sieve support.
We test this solution on some domains with success.
But if we change the configuration of all our domains, we have a lots
of bounce with this error in postfix

net ads join: Aborted
I'm having trouble getting a host to join an ADS domain/realm. I have smb.conf set correctly, with the workgroup, realm, and security = ads specified. However, when I try to join with the command: net ads join -U Administrator, I simple get the message "Aborted" and it does not join the domain. If I use the -d flag to enable debugging, I see the following toward the end of the

Trying to install an app from floppy
I've installed 1.0.r4 -- yes, it's kind of old, but seems to be the
latest binary available for FreeBSD 7 -- and it doesn't want to run
a setup.exe from the floppy drive.
$ rm -rf .wine
$ wine a:setup.exe

In Rails 3.1 Model.count() ignores :include - no outer join in generated SQL
Hello!
At first I posted this in rubyonrails-talk, but no one there was able to
tell me if this is a bug or not (I got only suggestion for workaround).
As this looks like 3.1 regression that breaks existing 3.0.10 code I decided
to post this here in addition.
I''ve upgraded to Rails 3.1 (from 3.0.10), ran my test suite and found this
issue:

dovecot-auth: Too many open files
All,
[version: dovecot-0.99.11-4.EL4.src.rpm]
We recently experienced an issue that prevented all new IMAP logins from
occurring. Although it appears that it was due to running out of
available system file descriptors, I'm still not sure what the true root
cause was as I can't replicate the same error in our test environment.
The system file descriptor max was set at (per `cat
