gl and different number of replications
I am trying to use the function gl (generate levels), and would like to make levels with different number of replications. Does anyone know how to generate different number of replications in each level? Something like: [1] Site1 Site1 Site1 Site1 Site1 Site1 Site1 [8] Site2 Site2 Site2 Site2 Site2 Thanks in advance -- Rog?rio R. Silva MZUSP http://www.mz.usp.br Linux/Debian User # 354364

subset
Dear all, I am trying to extract rows from a data.frame based on the rowSums != 0. I want to preserve rownames in the first column in the subset. Does anyone know how to extract all species that don't have rowSums equal to zero? Here it is: # dataset x <- data.frame( species=c("sp.1","sp.2","sp.3","sp.4"), site1=c(2,3,0,0), site2=c(0,0,0,0),

calling data frames
Dear List, I've around 1000 *.txt files, I've generate with other software. I've now done the following code (below). My question is how can I automate this (with do.call () ?), so it could be done for all the *.txt files. Thanks in advance, Rog??rio names<- list.files() file <- "BLU_Var_%04d.txt" for(i in 1:1000){

DONE: Installation of packages?
Dear helpers, thanks. Installation of R and packages (like integrate) successful done. The LD_LIBRARY_PATH wasn't set in the correct order: system libs ahead of the compiler lib. Cross checks provided by Brian Ripley, Oxford, helped a lot. levelplot
Dear helpers, I have strange results with levelplot: The following lines of code produce a figure with a strange gray horizontal line. Changing n to 9 the line vanishes almost - it stays in the colorbar. Any ideas? The pixel geometry of the lower half of the figure is wrong? ############################## n<-8 xyz<-expand.grid(x=seq(1,n),y=seq(1,n)) z<-matrix(0,n,n)

[PATCH] com32/lib/syslinux/load_linux.c: cmdline truncated
Hi, in syslinux-386, I think I've found a problem in com32/lib/syslinux/load_linux.c that leads to cmdline being truncated unnecessarily when e.g. linux.c32 is used. The patch below fixes the problem for me. But I don't know, whether the patch is safe in all cases. I tried to reproduce the logic found in runkernel.inc, but I might have missed something. So, feel free to tell me

Fortran90
Hi, working with R, version 0.63.0, I was successful to dyn.load fortran90 subroutines on a Solaris 2.6, as long as they are more or less in conformity with f77. It was not possible to work with statements like REAL,DIMENSION(:) :: d or x=SUM(y). REAL,DIMENSION(1:10) :: d is possible. We compiled R with f77. Is it possible with real f90 routines or is is in any conflict with the shared

Printing problems with samba 3.0.23c and NT4
Hi everyone! I have upgrade my fileserver from samba2-smbpasswd to samba3.0.23c with LDAP-PDC. Now i can't print to the printers on that server with NT4. "net use ..." is functional, but if I print to that printer, I get the error - free translated from german message - "The syntax of the filename, directory name or the disc-label is wrong." WinXP hasn't that

More problems with samba 3.0.23c and NT4
Hi everyone! I have some trouble with samba 3.0.23 as PDC for NT4 workstations with SP6a. I have upgraded from samba2. 1. The ntconfig.pol from the netlogon-share does'nt work. I get a prf1.tmp in the User-Profile-Folder and the policy wouldn't mix to the registry. In the Event-Log I found an entry "RegLoadKey ist mit dem Fehler 87 f?r C:\WINNT\Profiles\aba\prfD.tmp

recycle: ... returned No such file or directory
Hi, recently I see lots of logs like this. I figured, that many have umlaute in their name - but not all. My local FS displays the umlaute correctly - but it is not displayed correctly in the logfiles. Also, when I browse through shares via Windows or MacOSx all files with umlaute seem to be displayed correctly. May 5 08:27:54 Storage-01 smbd[39207]: recycle: stat for

MSDFS extensions
Hello, I'm setting up MSDFS feature in samba-2.2.0-alpha3. It works very great! But I'm would wish an extension to the MSDFS functionality: Is it possible to implement a feature, so I could group junction points within directories? E.g.: [pub] path = /export/publicsmb msdfs root = yes PUB | +- dir1 <- directory manually created in /export/publicsmb | | |

Problems with Forms
Hi, I am using mechanize for a while now. Works great. But at the moment I have a small problem using it. The problematic file is attached. In that PHP-File you will see a formular, but mechanize doesn''t recognize it. Could somebody check this? Hi, The MISS 2011 workshop below is highly related to this mailing list, since VMs are some of the best-known examples of systems software. Dealing with modularity in a VM is known to be critical, yet tough, so insights, advances or experiences from the trenches are extremely welcome at our workshop. Consider participating! Installation of packages?
Dear r-helpers, we have installation problems: Successful installation of R-0.63 base package on Solaris 2.5.1 with the SunSoft compilers f77, c version 4.2. We habe problems with the installation of further packages e.g. integrate from CRAN. R code works but the shared objects built from fortran code do not find the appropriate libs with functions like __pow_ii or __epx at runtime. We tried
