running both wine and winex
Hi there !
You are very likely using CVS.
try this:
compile and install wine:
./configure --prefix=/usr/wine
make depend
make
make install
compile and install winex:
./configure --prefix=/usr/winex
make depend
make
make install
do NOT add /usr/wine/bin and /usr/winex/bin to $PATH
do NOT add /usr/wine/lib and /usr/winex/lib to $LD_LIBRARY_PATH

running an old build of wine?
I've noticed lots of people posting to this board running ancient versions
of wine.
Upgrading or replacing wine is easy..but I know some of you are slighty
afraid of messing what you got set up already.
There are current binaries, rpms, and source here
http://www.winehq.com/download.shtml
I recommend getting the CVS snapshot rpm (the one on top) or to just use
cvs to get the source

TransGaming and SourceForge
Hi everyone,
Just wanted to let everyone know that the TransGaming DirectX development is now
being hosted at SourceForge. You can get updates from our live CVS tree, discuss
DirectX specific issues on the 'WineX-devel' mailing list, etc. The SourceForge
project page is at:
http://sourceforge.net/project/winex
The CVSROOT for CVS is:

I have been using wine for a while now and i think it is generely a good

inside linux )
It is a shame it is a little unstable

How to build WineX???
Hi all,
I took the CVS from WineX (as mentioned on the transgaming.com
Website). I downloaded fine and compiled fine. But: I have only a wine
exec, but no winex. In the tools subfolder, there is a winex. But when
I run it it just states, that some dirĀ“s are missing
(/usr/lib/transgaming and so on). The exec winex is only a script, no
bin. Does somebody know how to build a real winex with DX8

All i wanna know is if anyone here got CS working with the latest WineX

Two different windows configurations
Hi,
i have compiled winex from source, and i also have windows 98 with directx
8.0 running in my computer.
I would like wine not to use my real windows 98 configuration, but a new one,
with its own libraries, this is because i know i should not try to emulate
real Directx.
I think wine can create a fake windows directory which contains all the
libraries, but don't know how to create it.

ReWind vs WINE vs WINEX
I have a question in that which is the best WINE to
use? Or what are the differences
wineX - This is the wine from Transgaming that the CVS
does not contain SafeDisc but the purchasable one
does?
rewind - This is the MIT/X licensed version
wine - This is the LGPL version from www.winehq.com
Right now I use "wine" and update from CVS from
winehq.com. So which is the best one to use as

I am trying to get the latest CVS of WineX running on my box, Mandrake

finding anything about this. The configure and make depend go fine.
During the make, I get the following error...

Error when compiling FFmpeg with speex-git.
Hi
With 32-bit Xubuntu-14.04.
When I compile FFmpeg from git using speex-1.2rc1 it builds OK.
When I compile FFmpeg from git using speex-git it fails to build. (speex-HEAD-78cce67)
It's not a big deal, I don't mind using speex-1.2rc1.
But am I doing something wrong or is there something wrong with speex-git?
(I've put the details in a txt attachment to keep this email post

[PATCH 1/2] Update comparison.html
I cleaned up comparison.html, making the comparison more fair and
removing manufacturers that no longer have any new hardware
supporting a certain format. The table is more readable now too.

compiling ffmpeg with --enable-libspeex (was Re: from Adobe Flex / Flash Player 10 .flv Speex via Red5 to .wav PCM?)
This is resolved:
apt-get remove libspeex-dev
cd ~/src/speex-1.2rc1/
./configure --prefix=/usr
make; make install
cd ../ffmpeg
./configure --enable-libspeex
make; make install
worked; then I was able to decode a Speex .flv file:
~/flvs$ ffmpeg -i SpeexQ6R16Efalse.flv foo.wav
FFmpeg version SVN-r17174, Copyright (c) 2000-2009 Fabrice Bellard, et al.
configuration: --enable-libspeex
