iexplore ver 5.5 install can't load commctrl.dll
I have installed wine version 20020904 on: Linux kernel 2.2.14 glibc 2.1.2 gcc 2.95.3 kde-3.0.2 WINEDLLPATH=/usr/local/lib/wine (set after wine was installed) I commented out the code in cdrom.c that will not compile because of the old kernel (ie. references to SCSI_PASS). Wine will then compile and install and run. I then installed all of the fonts from sourceforge. Then I tried to install

"fixme:commctrl:InitializeFlatSB stub"
Hi, first please excuse if I missed the answer to my question while searching through www.winehq.org. I use wine (the Debian package of 200204110) sometimes for small programs and often it works very well. :-) But while trying to use the demo of a program to organize chess tournaments that is named Swiss-Chess (the swdemo32.exe program from [1]) I got the following messages at startup: <--

comctl32.dll native implies commctrl.dll native ?
Hi, I'm trying to install an app that use InstallShields to install. The process wants to upgrade comctl32.dll when using builtin one. So, I swithed to native. And using native forces me to have commctrl.dll. Wine does not provide commctrl.dll, so, am I obliged to download it or get it from a regular windows install ? Is there any way to avoid switching comctl32.dll to native ? Thanks

Wine and Poser 4
I am fairly new to wine and have been attempting to get Metacreation's Poser 4 to run. It installs without error, but never starts up properly when I try to run it. I am running the unstripped binaries dated today (11/30/2001) under Mandrake 8.1. I do not reference my installed windows 98 partition at all in my configuration. I have attempted to get some information from winedbg and have

ASPI problem
Having gotten WinOnCD to start (though the installer fails (*.msi file)) by copying the files and registry from a windows install, I now have an ASPI problem. I am able to erase a cdrw from within winoncd and most of winoncd works pretty much as it should (but no drag'n drop works). Writing a CD does however not work yet and it appears to be a winaspi problem: Here is part of the trace:

BG 2 shows "List index out of bounds (-1)"
Hi, I'm trying to run Baldur's Gate 2 from Bioware here; I installed natively under Windows since the installer would fail. I've been using winesetuptk on a Debian unstable system with latest Wine packages; before starting, I purged my previous wine setup and my user files so I would get a clean start. The winesetuptk found my native Win95 partition (on which BG2 works well) and uses

Help starting Wine
Are you pointing wine to native windows dll's? This may be causing your problems... you might want to try the #winehq irc channel on openprojects.net if you continue to have trouble and can't get adequate help on the newsgroup. I just compiled and installed Wine 20010216 snapshot. Compiles fine, installs fine. I set up my configuration to use my Windows install, but when I try to run something, I get messages similar to this: # wine notepad.exe err:module:BUILTIN32_dlopen failed to load .so lib for builtin shell32.dll: /usr/local/lib/librpcrt4.so: undefined symbol: dbch_ole err:module:BUILTIN32_dlopen failed to load

Specific DllOverrides won't work...
Hi all, I recently succeed using on of my apps under Wine. But with the config, I meet a problem : I can't have both IE and my app workig, due to the use of native comctl32.dll and commctrl.dll. I wanted to specify this only for my app, as others won't work if I set it as global DllOverride. So here is what I did : [DllOverrides] ...snip "comctl32" =

I'm trying to install Media Player 6.4...I get up to the point just where install is saying, installing foo (foo varies, sometimes it says DirectSound, other times Codec Preinstall, or DirectEx). Then I get an error that says: "Unhandled exception <hex> at address <hex>. Do you wish to debug it?" I am running FreeBSD 4.4. Wine version is Wine release 20010824.

Font problem with delphi application
Hi all, I am having a problem with a small Delphi address database application. When attempting to display the address details from one of a list of addresses, an empty text area is displayed instead of a text area containing address details. Screenshots of the app in windows and wine can be found here: http://www.blub.net/~wouter/wine/windows.png http://www.blub.net/~wouter/wine/wine.png The
