wine and Platypus
I've been trying to get Platypus (the ISP billing software by Boardtown) working under wine on-and-off for the past couple of months. Last time I checked, there were some Visual FoxPro problems. Those have now been resolved, but I get an 'insufficient memory' error as soon as Plat tries to contact the SQL database. Has anyone gotten it to work under wine yet? Anything I should

Wine / Visual Foxpro 7 Problems (mouse click freezes the program)
Hi, First of all, apologies if I'm not posting this in the correct place. I'm successfully running Microsoft Visual Foxpro 7 under Wine, however I needed to use the native versions of shlwapi and oleaut32. There is a major problem still, however, and that is that foxpro will freeze as soon as I use the mouse to click in certain controls (the command window, a textbox, an edit box,

Wine and XP
I have Wine working, and my Windows XP-installation mounted as read only. Reading the FAQ, I noticed: "DON'T configure Wine to use an NT-based Windows install (NT, Win2K, WinXP)." So... is it futile to try to get XP-applications running on my Linux-box? Should I install them from Wine, and if so, how? "wine SETUP.EXE"? I'm mostly interested in running Instant Messanger

migrating from samba 3 to samba 4
Hi all, after the news that samba 4 is now supporting user lockouts after bad password attempts we need to plan our roadmap on migrating from Samba 3 to samba 4. We currently have Samba version 3.0.7-1.3E.1 installed with (passwd) database as a backend. I would appreciate if anyone can guide me on the migration process. Our old server Centos 4.4 Samba 3.0.7 (Master browser)

samba - what happens if I say local master = No for samba 3
Hi all, another question on my roadmap to samba 4. I must admit that I am a bit scared of doing the migration from samba 3 to samba 4 and wondered if there is a simplified process that can be followed instead of the wiki... What happens if I selected (NO) in my samba3 config file ( local master = No ) and I Installed and booted a second server with samba4 on it... Will they be able to run

Please share your mail setup with me if you are running samba4
Hi Guys, I had no luck so far getting openchange installed onto samba 4.1.4 and wondered if I am on the right track here regarding emails for users. I will appriciate it if anyone can share their setups with me so I can estimate what will be the best way forward. The plan so far. Run Samba4 as a file server. (this is working in a test enviroment) Run Samba4 as a DC with Active Directory

AOL on Linux
Hello. I am a newbie to wine. In my local area, the only way to have unmetered access to th internet is to use AOL. After some research on the internet, it gas come to light that some linux users have managed to install AOL's version 5.0 of their software to access AOL. Following these instructions, AOL5 is installed on my computer. The command "wine setup32.exe" was run. AOL5

Running Trillian freezes X
Hey all I've successfully installed and setup 'Trillian' from www.trilian.cc. It's a consolidated Messenger app ( Yahoo + ICQ + AIM + MSN). It works about 99%. :) The 1% failure is in the 'Buddy list' window itself, and ONLY that window. Anytime I try to move it, it freezes my X. If I kill wine, and kill kdeinit, I can re-login, and try again. Only this window causes a

Wine and FoxPro 5 windows
Hi all, I'm not sure if I should try wine-devel, but I'll throw it out here first. I'm looking into some of the strange issues with FoxPro5, and what I thought were MDI issues. These issues don't exist prior to June 2000, and are basically known regressions. I did a trace (cvs as of today 2/19/2002): wine --debugmsg +win,+event,+x11 vfp.exe to see what was happening, and I

graphic glitch around menu/toolbars
Greetings, I've tried wine on and off over the course of a few years and there is one problem I always run into that I believe is caused by either my configuration or my window manager. I'm using a stock Fedora Core 3 (fc3) system and currently wine-20041201-1fc3winehq with a default config file. When I run windows applications there is a transparent border around the menubar and all

SAMBA4 - Domain Trust lost and not recreate
Hi Folks, my S4 AD works well since the end of december. (Thanks to Christmas) I also managed to create the incoming trust to an Windows 2008 Srv domain. Now the trust is broken. I tried the old reboot trick and so on. My last (stupid) idea was to delete the trust on both sides and recreate it using the management tools from Microsoft. But the creation fails on the samba4 site, complaining

Help needed - One question is about samba group policy and another is about samba and openchange install.
Hi all, I have some general question and I hope someone here can provide some insight. One question is about samba GPO and another is about samba and openchange install. I don't know if the second question can be answered here. I have also asked the same question on the openchange mailing list and some very helpful people there are busy replying with suggestions but so far the answer is still
