Lotus Notes 5.0.9a
Believe it or not, wine runs the Install Shield program perfectly when installing Lotus Notes. However, when creating mail, after I type one letter (doesn't matter what it is) every letter after it dissappears until you hit backspace, delete, or click the mouse in the window. This is annoying as some of us *like* to see what we're typing in an email :-) I'm Running RedHat 6.2 and the

Why does sysinstall still limits cylinders to 65535?
Hello, I have been struglling with sysinstall, attempting to make it handle the geometry of some large SATA drives. After a lot of effort I decided to stop suffering and modified the program in order to circumvent the outdated limit of 65535 cylinders (see attached patch). I'm thinking about submitting a PR with a change request but I'd like to get some additional opinions first. I did

Metalog and Shorewall
Hi Tom and list, Still trying to set up Shorewall logging. I understand that Shorewall require syslog to get logging working, however I have metalog. Is this possible to use metalog as logging facility for Shorewall? I was reading http://www.shorewall.net/shorewall_logging.html and it describes other method ( ULOG ). I understand that I have to compile ULOG support in the kernel... where do I

FreeBSD 8.3-R sysinstall does not "see" disks that are recognized during boot
I've got a new supermicro server I'm trying to get FreeBSD on. It uses the Intel c602 chipset, and it's my understanding that support for that chipset (c60X) was recently added via the isci driver. Ok, great, that explains why 8.2-R and 9.0-R didn't see the drives. So, I grabbed the memstick image of 8.3-RELEASE that is on the ftp server, booted it up, and sure enough, as the

Tracking 4-stable rather than 4.8-stable
Hi, I would like to follow 4-stable on my FreeBSD box, and i can't fetch binaries from /stand/sysinstall. Can anyone help me? Here is how i did: 1) I installed 4.8-RELEASE from CD, 2) I used cvsup to upgrade. For this i used the stable-supfile as shown in the Handbook. => My OS version as shown by 'uname -a' and '/stand/sysinstall' is "4.8-STABLE". It

How to make a customized, unattended install for FreeBSD?
I would like to customize our store-bought, bootable FreeBSD CD so that it does a non-interactive (or minimally interactive ;-) install. The interim solution we've devised has our lab execution techs booting from a CD and then using the Sysinstall "Load config file" menu option to load an "install.cfg" file from a floppy. We'd like to eliminate this step by

[LLVMdev] Intrinsics __readeflags and __writeeflags
Hello all, I am trying to implement intrinsics __readeflags and __writeeflags reading and writing EFLAGS register on x86. These intrinsics expand to two instructions popf and push to register for __readeflags and pushf and pop to register for __writeeflags. These instructions are not connected explicitly so I can't use patterns in .td file to match intrinsics. I tried to implement custom

These intrinsics are introduced for compatibility purposes. Besides MSVC GCC also supports it in its main trunk; ICC supports it on Windows and is going to support in the next version on Linux. 2013/12/18 Joerg Sonnenberger <joerg at britannica.bec.de> > On Tue, Dec 17, 2013 at 01:05:10PM -0800, David Majnemer wrote: > > This intrinsic seems very ill-defined, apparently it can be

AHCI and correct drive geometry?
Hey folks, So what's the word on AHCI and bios drive geometry? I'm having a real pain of a time trying to get some 750gb sata drives running on my FreeBSD7 box in AHCI mode. It doesn't seem to matter what disk geometry I suggest to sysinstall, something complains of an invalid disk upon booting it. Actually, in AHCI mode the bios screen doesn't report any information on

winelib and compiling MFC
Hi, The company I work for, has asked me to use winelib to port some code, however I have a problem compiling the MFC. I run winemaker 0.5.7 with options: 'winemaker --lower-uppercase -nomfc --dll ./ > \ winemaker_output.txt' No errors in file or stderror; further winemaker accesses the correct directories. But when I run ./configure as: './configure --with-wine=/usr/bin \

Will 5.4 be an "Extended Life" release?
In the next month or two I've got to upgrade a number of servers that are currently on an EOL'd version of 4-STABLE. I foresee that I'll have very limited time to do full OS upgrades on these systems in the coming several years, so I want to make sure I bring them onto an extended-life branch. Right now 4.11 has the furthest projected EOL date (Jan 31 2007), and the projected EOL

bugged sysinstall, bsdlabel, zfs, gmirror - recept for disaster :)
Hello there! Here's my story, hopefully some of you won't follow my steps and avoid some troubles :) Yesterday I've decided that's about time to test zfs functionality on my home server PC (i386 FreeBSD 7.1-pre) . A couple of weeks ago I bought new desktop PC (with SATA), so I had a bunch of PATA disks from old one to use in server. Lucky me - there was 3 HDD at size 40GB -

[LLVMdev] Intrinsics __readeflags and __writeeflags
I don't know enough about LLVM CodeGen to answer your questions. I'm just curious. What is the intended level of support for these intrinsics? Are they for reading ALU flags like CF, OF, etc, or for seldom changed control flags like TF and AC? Even DF is typically scratch, and could be used for an -Oz memmove lowering for example. I don't think LLVM will ever really support
