WINE and OFFICE97 Applications
Hi all,
I've copied from my WIN98 PC to my linux machine the complete
C:\WINDOWS\* tree and as application the OFFICE97 installation. On my
linux machine codeweaver 1.0 is running.
EXCEL97 behaves well but for WINWORD97 I got the alert box "not enough
memory or working space". Well I think I have enough memory but it may
be a configuration problem.

W2K Office97 File Open or Save problem
Hi all
I have a Samba 2.2.2-3.2mdk build running on 8.1 Mandrake. All the Win9x
clients work fine. The Win2k clients also work fine except that from
within Word or Excel they can't use file open or file save. When trying
to open or save a file on a drive that is mapped to the Samba share then
the app says that the user does not have enough privileges on drive x:

[LONG] Word 95 behaves strange in file dialog
Hello!
I'm having problems with Word 95 (yes, we still use Office 95) running
on W2K SP4. Samba is 3.0.4 running on Debian Testing (package from unstable).
However, the problem appeared with 3.0.2a also and 3.0.5 didn't fix this.
It was definitely not there with Samba 2.x versions.
W2K and Office95 are both German versions.

Can not install Excel97/Word97
Hello!
I am new to this list (although I have done a fair amount of research in the archives) and I need to ask what is probably one of the most frequently asked questions on a list like this:
How do I install Word97 and Excel97?
(Codeweavers CrossoverOffice can do this, and they ASSURE us that they roll everything they do back to the main wine CVS and hence, this SHOULD work!)
So far; this is

Installing Excel 97, SUCCESS!!
Hi again!
Yesterday I wrote to this list complaining that I could not install Excel 97. I have now succeeded. The trick was NOT to run "install.exe", but to unpack xl97_1.cab and run the acmsetup.exe in there, like so:
"wine -- acmsetup.exe /T excel97.stf"
(I think that excel97.stf existed in the first cab-file as well.)
The installer will ask for a few files that all can

Can't make "Running MS Office 97 under Linux with Wine" work
Following the Office 97 installation instruction given in http://www.wine-reviews.net/microsoft/running-ms-office-97-under-linux-with-wine.html failed to work for me. I get to the point where it says to install DCOM98. The terminal listing shows many errors:

FileFormatConverters: no equations in docx documents?
Hello.
I need to view some docx files that embed equations. I installed wordviewer, then FileformatConverters in wine 1.5.3. Both install ok, and I can view docx files, except that the equations don't appear at all.
Does anybody have a solution?
Thanks!

Schedule+ calendar success story
Hello,
Maybe interesting for other people googling the web:
I have Schedule+ 7.0 working under Wine 20050310 (comes with Debian
Sarge). This program is bundeled with all versions of Microsoft Office,
(mine comes from Office95) but most of the time hidden on the CD. It can
be used as a shared calendar. I copied the directory "Schedule"
directly, no setup program.
Important is, that you

Office 2K question
Hi all,
Have successfully installed Office2k.
All programs start correctly, even if there is a message, that the Office
Assistant didn't install correctly, but they run.
Of course, i have some problems :-)) :
1. In Word, the text, i was typing, does not appear. In Excel and PowerPnt
it does...
2. Neither Word, nor other Office applications can open or save any files,
because they mean, the

Wine not properly loading config file
Hi,
I'm starting with wine. I've been playing with an older version from 2003
and just ugraded to the Wine version : 20050524.
I'm using RedHat 9 at the moment.
I'm trying to change the resolution and drives in Wine, but for some strange
reason, every changes I make in the ~/.wine/config file are not reflecting
in wine.
I naturally verified if I had any wineserver running in the

phpEdit and MSI
Good morning!
I'm running a fairly close-to-stock Redhat 9 box, and I've installed
wine from the rpms. I have a ~/.wine/c/windows/system directory. When I
go to try to install the new version (version 1.0) of phpEdit, it fails
with the "low diskspace or corrupted cab file" message that I'm sure
you're all familiar with.
I've tried installing InstMSIa.exe (wine

Installing Wordview with Winetools
Dear friends:
I am pleased to say that I successfully installed Internet Explorer
Sp1 on my Linux (Scientific Linux 4.0, which is based on RHEL 4)
using Wintools.
After installing IE6, I thought installing WordView (the Word97
word view program) would be a snap. But instead Wintools failed
to install it in several attempts. It started, downloaded the file and
tried to install it. But at

wine & RH7.0 - failed dependencies
Hi
I am using redhat 7.0 with the stock kernel. I downloaded the daily build
of wine last night from <http://www.linux-easy.com/daily>. I just tried
to install wine and it gave me the following messages:

Sorry that bit wasn't too clear. I think people can accept being called newbies, I certainly don't mind. But the term noob is generally viewed as an insult, I think some people

Anyone experienced RSpec/Autotest forgetting models?
Hi
Saving a controller spec frequently gives me this error:

Help from a more experienced WINE developer
Hiya,
So in an attempt to get Champions Online working under WINE, I have been debugging it and I have found that the function IWineD3DVolumeImpl_UnlockBox (it can be found in WINE_SRC/dlls/wined3d/volume.c) is being called twice on the same object thus in the second attempt it is trying to unlock an already unlocked object, which seems to be generating the error. I have searched the WINE code
