ODBC adapter connection help please.
Does anyone have any experience getting ODBC to work? I could really use
some help here.
I''m having trouble accessing a db2 database via odbc using rails. It''s an
external database, that I import data from. I have placed the connection

[LLVMdev] Files to lib/System/Win32
Hi
What did I start? <*shrug*>
Well, well, well.
First a little bit of history:
I joined the LLVM project, because the ideas sounded very interesting to me
and I voluntered for a minor patch for prefetch datasupport for the
gcc-compiler.
At that time, when I joined, the only possibility to develop on the windows
platform was to use Cygwin Unix Windows emulation layer, but it had some

Hello,
I decided to embrace getting a new Rails application to see an
existing MSSQL database and trying to get unixODBC, freeTDS, and
ActiveRecord able to query my MSSQL database.
I''m following the procedure outlined at
http://wiki.rubyonrails.org/rails/pages/HowtoConnectToMicrosoftSQLServerFromRailsOnLinux

Is there any plan to support HTTP Proxy
Tinc is a great idea but often we sit behind corporate firewall which
also often to only allow traffic to go through HTTP proxy. is there any
plan of tinc to implement the proxy support, then it will truely be
wonderful.
like other through proxy service, one might setup a broker server to
establish an initial connection through proxy and then hand over the
communication to point-to-point, like

why use profile likelihood for Box Cox transformation?
Hi All,
I'm analysing some data that is conventionally modelled as log(Y) = a + bX + e. However, using the boxcox function, it appears that the optimum value of lambda is approx 0.05. I have 40 data sets of differing sizes and for about half of these, lambda is significantly non-zero. So, it is worth looking into.
The alternative model, Y^lambda = a + bX + e, has been explored before by

Odd ActiveRecord#valid? behavior
I found that some of my records from a pre-existing database will
occasionaly not be valid. There is no custom validation code on the class,
but you can do something like:
c = CollectionSession.find 24098
c.valid?
=> false
c.errors.empty?
=> true
What''s odd is that the code in validations.rb looks like it runs the various
validations, and then just returns c.errors.empty?

bandwidth usage :>

A bit OT...but here is a nifty Rails sighting.... ;)
According to arstechnica,
<http://arstechnica.com/reviews/games/forever.ars>Duke Nukem Forever
has been ported to Ruby on Rails and is now rendered with
some kind of magic mishmash of svg-canvas and ajax! This truely is an
example of the incredible power of a web browser. Any hope for getting Mr.
Fowler to add a Recipe for this type of thing in his new book? ;)

[bug] False debugging with ipconfig
kinit.c contains the following lines before calling ipconfig_main:
#ifdef INI_DEBUG
args[a++] = (char *)"-n";
#endif
In my attempts to debug the NFS mounting, this threw me off for a bit.
(The -n parameter runs a "dry run" and does not actually configure
the network).
Thus, it seems it's actually impossible to debug NFS mounting with the
stock, unpatched klibc. It

DIALSTATUS with X100P
I'm having an issue with my current configuration. I have a single
PSTN line connected to an X100P and a couple IAX trunks to NuFone and
VoipJet. When I make an outbound call it doesn't properly detect if
my PSTN line is in use with another call and then overflow to my
outbound IAX connections. I think the root cause is that DIALSTATUS
gets reported as BUSY instead of CHANUNAVAIL. I

Help with labeling a page with multiple graphs.
Hi,
I am trying to output pdf files with 8 graphs per page. My current study
has 8 evaluation criteria, and 38 study conditions. This would result in
38 pages of 8 graphs. I have figured out how to get the graphs looking
like I would like them, and I am using the layout() function to put them
on the page, as that allows me the control I would like over the
appearance of the individual plots.

Best way of figuring out whether graphical elements overlap?
Hi all,
I'm plotting impulses, where some of them should have labels hovering above them. I know of plotrix' spread.labels function, but would like to save that for instances where there truely is to little space for the label.
Does anybody have any hints what' the most efficient way might be to achieve the following:
- plot an impulse plot
- before placing each of a vector of text

smbtorture NEGNOWAIT makes 3.023d dump core
smbtorture NEGNOWAIT causes a core dump with a message "Abnormal server
exit: multiple negprot's are not permitted".
Is that truely by design??
I am running Samba 3.0.23d as AD member server and have smbtorture
running on the same machine.
Kind regards,
