undefined S4 class in parallel computing at snowfall
Dear All, I have a question of how to export S4 class specification to clusters/workers in parallel computing. The package I used is snowfall. The problem is reproducible as follows. Any hint is greatly appreciated. Edwin Sun === begin =========== library(snowfall) sfInit(parallel = TRUE, cpus = 2) setClass("catt", representation(aa = "numeric")) setClass("dogg",

Wine on Tiger
I'm almost certain I installed Wine correctly, but when I try to get a Windows program working it doesn't happen. The program I'm trying to install is Arena 10 (a simulation program). I've attached some screen shots. The first one is when I completed the wine install, 2 through 6 show when I tried to install the program. If you could tell me what steps to take to fix these

printing with wine thru ghostscript
The printing howto is a little vague in this area. How do I go about printing through ghostscript from windows? I know how to teach ghostscript to print the ttfs (generate the appropriate afms, add them to the fontmap). Where do I place the afms for wine to use? If I provide afms for each truetype font for wine, and then use a postscript printer ppd file, and set lpt1 to be |lpr, will this

Anyone having his USB Joystick working in wine?
Hi everyone, I am running X-Plane under wine, but the joystick input is ignored. Is there anything special I need to do in the wine setup to have the joystick recognized. My joystick is a USB Logitech Wingman Extreme 3D, and it works normally under other Linux applications. Richard -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

How quickly are RHEL errata released as CentOS errata ?
Hi, I am deciding on what 'RHEL clone' to use and prefer to use one that has a quick release after RedHat releases an update. I checked the repositories, but have not encountered any of the latest errata. Am I looking at the wrong place ? Thanks, Taco

How do I override a method that's only invoked from a rake task
I want to override structure_dump in the MysqlAdapter class. (It doesn''t dump some stuff I need for my implementation and I''m extending it to do that.) I know how to override methods in application code. MysqlAdapter#structure_dump is called from the rake task db:structure:dump, and I can''t figure out where to put the overriding implementation so that it gets called

chan_sip.c: That's odd... Got a response on a call we dont know about.
Hi All, I'm running trixbox 2.0. The problem: a remote extension behind a NAT, can call other extensions, can call any other party, can call voicemail, will ring when rung, but when answered there is nothing and the dialling party continues to hear the ring tone. I'm getting this error in the logs: "That's odd... Got a response on a call we dont know about" I see

Counter Strike Source rando quits, and that's pretty much it
I was very excited recently because for the first time in my attempts to get my windows games to work with wine I actually managed to install steam, counter strike source, and half life 1. And then it actually launched and everything seemed to be going so well but then I joined a server, and after a while counter strike just quit on me taking me back to the desktop. I haven't found anything

Sound problem (that's marked as fixed)
Hello, I can usually find the solution for my problems by browsing the forums, but this time, I can't find anything that helps, so I'm asking. So the problem is that some sounds aren't playing in one game. Specifically, when I'm playing Phantasy Star Online (http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=application&iId=2170), I have no background music. I do have some of

Sending text to a phone that's no in-use ...
Anyone know if it's possible to send a line of text to a phone that's not currently in-use? What I want is: SendText(SIP/101, "Hello World") but that doesn't exist ... I'm after an application where someone (say a receptionist) can send one of a small set of pre-defined messages, so that when someone next looks at their phone it might say: "Wife

Win10 to Samba as NT- PDC needs 3 settings
Upgrading Win7-32 (connected to Samba as NT-PDC) to Win10 requires - disable HardenedUncPaths (MutualAuth & Integrity) - install NTVDM - enable LegacyConsole otherwise the logon-script in Netlogon does not run, even if samba.cnf contains "server max level = NT1" Is Samba as NT-PDC supposed to handle HardenedUncPaths? Did I miss that I should have enabled that somehow in smb.conf?

What to do with a inconsistency in rank() that's in S+ and R ever since?
Dear R-developers, I just realized that rank() behaves inconsistent if combining one of na.last in {TRUE|FALSE} with a ties.method in {"average"|"random"|"max"|"min"}. The documentation suggests that e.g. with na.last=TRUE NAs are treated like the last (=highest) value, which obviously is not the case: > rank(c(1,2,2,NA,NA), na.last = TRUE, ties.method

function in R that's equivalent to SQL's "IN"
Hi all, I'm trying to find something like the "==" operator that will work on vectors or something equivalent to SQL's "IN" function. For e.g., if I have: x <- c(1,2,3,4,5) y <- c("apples", "oranges", "grapes", "bananas", "pears") z <- data.frame (x,y) w <- c(2,4,5) I want R to return the values

Ok, I'll submit a patch to turn that into a report_fatal_error saying you can't start an abbrev with an array or blob. [LLVMdev] Fwd: Bitcode abbreviations for something that's not a record
Hi all! Fuzzing llvm's bitcode reader, I found a problem where the reader assumes that the first field in an abbreviation will not be an array or a blob (and asserts otherwise). I don't know if this is expected (but not documented) or not. The documentation, to me, reads like it doesn't disallow it, but we might be assuming all abreviations start with a full record, which would make
