man pages won't work
Hi, I am sorry about this stupid question but after compilation of openssh-2.3.0p1 the manpages were installed but a man ssh gives only unstructured response without underlined lines etc. A nroff -man sshd.8 gives the same output but the contents of the file shows a nroff-format. Any ideas? My system is a HP-UX 11.000 with the pam-patch. regards Stephan -- LDS Brandenburg Dr. Stephan Hendl

Winemaker - Visual Studio 6.0 package
I am trying to get a rather large C++ program written in visual studio 6.0 to work on a linux system. I have installed the wine libraries and it runs just fine using: wine <executable name> However, I would like to be able to compile the program using winemaker on my linux box. Winemaker runs smoothly. However, the makefile generated by Winemaker in the root directory has all kinds of

Possible formatting bug in ssh-agent.1 man page
Version info: OpenSSH_7.3p1, OpenSSL 1.0.2i 22 Sep 2016, Arch linux The ssh-agent.1 man page seems to have an indentation oddity, at least, as formatted with recent Arch linux manpage toolset. Here's what appears in the formatted output just after the description of the the "-t" option: ---------- Begin formatted output ------------------------------------- -t life

makefile converter
Hey, Does anyone know of any VC++ to UNIX/LINUX makefile converter? If there is anything in the works or should I just bit the bullet and write my own script? Thanks, Joe

winelib and compiling MFC
Hi, The company I work for, has asked me to use winelib to port some code, however I have a problem compiling the MFC. I run winemaker 0.5.7 with options: 'winemaker --lower-uppercase -nomfc --dll ./ > \ winemaker_output.txt' No errors in file or stderror; further winemaker accesses the correct directories. But when I run ./configure as: './configure --with-wine=/usr/bin \

winelib runs but wine ok.... Why??
Hi all, I have a small program (~10k lines) that just uses elementry API (like SendMessage). It compiles under Borland C++ Builder 5.5.1 (for win exe) and under g++ with winlib. The problem is that the Builder EXE runs perfectly with WINE __BUT__ the library built with winlib does not run - spits out a segmentation faul @ line 400 (whatever that means) and some Error 139 with nothing else. afx.h... configure: error: Could not find the MFC includes
This is driving me nuts. I'm trying to compile an MFC application using WINE. I can specify the location of the ATL includes and configure is quite happy but it chokes when I give it the MFC includes in the same way: ./configure --with-atl-includes=/home/wade/VC98/atl/Include --with-mfc-includes=/home/wade/VC98/mfc/Include Wassup? I'm using Winemaker 0.5.5 And wine

inherits_from: Multiple table inheritance
Hey guys, I just implemented very simple and primitive class table inheritance in ActiveRecord. The goal is for this to become mature enough to become a true feature in Rails. Check it out here: http://guest@blog.raylucke.com/svn/inherits_from Here?s how it looks in action: create_table "books", :force => true do |t| t.column "product_id", :integer t.column

SCL devtoolset-3 or 4 without eclipse?
Is there a way to install devtoolset packages without the bloat of eclipse? I just want the new compiler and toolchain, not a big IDE. BTW devtoolset-3 dependencies are broken in yum with C6 yum install devtoolset-3 ... ---> Package devtoolset-3-perftools.x86_64 0:3.1-12.el6 will be installed --> Processing Dependency: devtoolset-3-dyninst for package:

vorbis_encode_init() bitrate arguments - offtopic
Hi, It's a bit offtopic for this list, but you might be able to help. For libvorbis rc3, what is the correct bitrate parametrization for the call vorbis_encode_init()? For rc2, it worked calling it the following way: vorbis_encode_init( &vorbisInfo, 2, // two channels 44100, // 44.1kHz

[OFFTOPIC] Need small PC
This is completely offtopic, but well, I run the list so there :) Please respond directly to me and not to the list, though, to save the people who don't want to listen to this discussion. I am looking for a small PC with very specific criteria; these machines are going into an industrial setting (which I cannot explain in detail); I was hoping someone on this list might have experience with

offtopic: possible asterisk meeting saturday amsterdam
hello everyone, theres a bi-monthly computer fair in amsterdam on saturday and it looks like a few asterisk users will be attending, and hopefully some more might be able to turn up. admittedly this probably is a bad idea to advertise because the more asterisk people the less likely i am to find cheap AVM Fritz ISDN cards - but what the hell. if you feel like a chat, and want to avoid the

[OFFTOPIC] integrated LSI 3008 :: number of hdd support
In my experience the mass market HBAs and RAID cards typically do support only 8 or 16 drives. For the internal variety in a standard rack-mount server you'll usually see either 2 or 4 iPass cables (each of which support 4 drives) connected to the backplane. The marketing material you've referenced has a white lie in it: supporting more than 16 drives on a single card is very likely only
