failed to load .so lib for builtin user32.dll
Hi, I'm trying to get Half-Life to run under Linux with wine, which is allegedly possible... I'm running debian unstable and don't have a windows partition. I installed wine from cvs from cvs.winehq.com:/home/wine, and ran the ./tools/wineinstall script, following the instructions on the howto here: http://lhl.linuxgames.com/howto/half-life-HOWTO-0.4.1.html I get to the part

Wine dummy-spitting
I've got a real problem with the debian (unstable) wine 0.0.200202228-1 Whenever I try to run a windows executable - of any sort, although it's Jeskola Buzz in the example I've attached - wine cheerfully spits the dummy. I realise that the DRIVE_Init warnings are ignorable, but #warn:dosfs:DOSFS_FindUnixName 'config\system' not found in ... #warn:dosfs:DOSFS_FindUnixName

Running ChildView under Wine 20021031 - Codepage 850?
Hello fellow Wine users: I'm in the process of moving all our desktops over from Windows 98 to Linux (via LTSP), and we've got everything aced except for one &*!^* app. We've run Amicus Attorney underneath wine for some time now, and it works a treat. However, Childview has proved to be... somewhat more reluctant. As far as apps go, it isn't that complicated. It's

I compiled the latest Wine 20010629 without a problem, but when I go to run any windows app with wine I get: err:module:BUILTIN32_dlopen failed to load .so lib for builtin x11drv.dll: /usr/X11R6/lib/libOSMesa.so.3: undefined symbol: _glapi_Context Could not load graphics driver 'x11drv' I tried compiling older

ASPI problem
Having gotten WinOnCD to start (though the installer fails (*.msi file)) by copying the files and registry from a windows install, I now have an ASPI problem. I am able to erase a cdrw from within winoncd and most of winoncd works pretty much as it should (but no drag'n drop works). Writing a CD does however not work yet and it appears to be a winaspi problem: Here is part of the trace:

hello, when i was running debian potato, i managed to get wine working some-what. i hadn't played with it much- i just recently installed it. i know it worked because sol.exe and notepad worked... i upgraded debian to potato, which contained a new-er version of wine. i know that i should use ~/.wine/config instead of /etc/wine.conf. for some reason, i never had the winesetup untility, so i

Problem compiling Corel-WINE
In reference to an old posting: we managed to get a copy of the final CVS Corel-WINE code. I am trying to compile it with GCC-3.3.4. I realize that this might not work as I had to hunt down three patches on Google to build GLibc-2.3.1 with that GCC version. NOTE: for those that don't know, GLibc-2.3.1 is the last version of GLibc that Corel-WINE will work with. So, I was building

DISPLAY problems
I have found the problem (and it's not with wine): The "Connection Refused" error was happening during the process of the LoadLibrary-ing of x11drv. The reason this was happening is that x11drv was loading OpenGL (libGL.so, etc.). Since I have a NVidia on tux, I was running NVIDIA GLX. The bug was with that. The hardcoded opening of :0.0 (despite $DISPLAY set otherwise) was
