Hi, I need to be able to use scp with files over 2GB. I've currently got a set of boxes running 2.5.2p2, and this is unable, as I understand it, to transfer these files. I've just downloaded the latest snapshot, 20010501, it complies fine on two rh7.1 machines, but again, I can't scp a file over 2GB. I get the same "file to large" error on the client as before. What, if

ext3 and df don't agree ?
I've taken my RH7.1 system, rebuild kernel (2.4.9 with ext3 patches) and followed the ext3 instructions to install. Everything seems to work OK but - df -k doesn't list the ext3 partition (my root partition). Is this a known problem ? If not, how best can I gather diagnostics to identify the source of the problem ? Thanks -- Philip Nelson (teamdba@bojnice.com)

Problem with Lotus Notes RNext client and setting User Preferences
Hi. I'm new to wine, so not totally sure whether this is a wine issue, or an application issue, so I am hoping people with more knowledge/experience can help me. I have a RedHat 7.1 system, and installed wine via a rpm package. I have also copies the fonts from a Win NT 4 system and added them to my X11 config. I am trying to use the beta version of the Lotus Notes RNext client under

ipchains - major newbie trap
Just a quick word - I spent two days trying to get Samba to work. The whole problem was a lack of knowledge about ipchains (firewall). It was part of the RH7.1 install package, and the medium security setting stops all tcp and udp traffic for a lot of ports, including those needed for NetBIOS (137-139) It is pretty easy to fix, the IPCHAINS-HOWTO is a good and humorous read, and by the end of

pppd and radius
I've been googling, but after getting nowhere for a while I thought I'd ask for a direction to head in. I am replacing a RH7.1 box that was performing dial-in service using a pppd patched for radius support. I'd prefer not to do things this way and would like to use a more easily updated configuration. What I need it to do is do auth against a radius server and support windows

Dead Gateway Detection
Hi, I have a linux box loaded with RH7.1, 3 ethernet with load balance on 2 ISP. In theory, if one router stop to work (I have turn off for this try), the Dead Gateway Detection, would re-instradate alla traffic on other link. This not work...someone have more experience on this? Giorgio Biondi
