Starcraft and Diablo II use a lot of CPU power
Hello, I am running Wine 1.0 under Fedora 9 x86_64. The problem is that the two mentioned games use a lot of CPU power about 50 % on a 2 Ghz Core 2 Duo. At first I thought this is caused by GDI DirectDraw renderer, but changing to opengl did not help. Also, it is just the same when you configure Diablo to use Direct3D renderer. Does anybody has any idea where can I look for the source of this

Even if I start the game from the cdrom, Diablo II complains it couldn't start because of Drive error: Make sure that Diablo II CD-Rom is inserted (this is only my translation) my wine config cdrom part: [Drive M] "Type" = "cdrom" "Path" = "/cdrom" "Label" =

diablo 1 fun and troubles
I have installed Diablo 1 lately and found Wine can't load the game succesfully. I see a few frames of Blizzard's intro, then it freezes. With Cedega 4.0 it works pretty well> I played for a couple hours then found later I can't load my games back. Ain't that funny? It seems to be a menu problem. Another thing I noticed with Cedega is, multiplayer hangs really quick.

Re: Diablo II LoD Crushed to go to Act 2!
I don't know what video card you have, but you may want to try running Diablo II in Glide mode, using the Glide-to-OpenGL wrapper: http://www.svenswrapper.de/english/index.html Place the contents of the wrapper into the Diablo II folder. With Wine run the "glide-init.exe" and you can try a test of the wrapper there. If all is well, run the Diablo II Video Test and Glide mode

more on Diablo II (wierd problem)
Ok, I do have Diablo II working, mostly. At the moment, it only works under TWM (not fvwm which is what I normally use) and only in -win mode. The problem is that the first time that my mouse leaves the diablo window, diablo iconifies. Not a major issue, I just have to make sure that it's before I start playing. HOWEVER, after it's de-iconified, the keyboard get's somewhat screwy. I

Diablo II not working
Everywhere I look people are just saying that Diablo II runs perfectly on wine without any problems. I installed successfully, but when I insert the play disc, my screen resolution changes and in the corner I can see one white letter with a black background that is constantly changing not apparently spelling anything. After a while this stops, and I can't do anything until I restart X. I am

Diablo II, Wine and GCC 4.0
I was reading the notes about using Diablo II under Wine and I noticed that one of the requirements was not to have Wine compiled with gcc 4.0. Is this still the case and if so why would the compiler make a difference? I know I could run with a cracked version of Diablo II, but I would prefer not to. Thanks, Kevin -- Get my public GnuPG key from

Diablo II
I'm relatively new to Linux so bear with me. I've built an Ubuntu machine and have successfully installed Wine and installed Diablo II and its expansion set successfully. I'm able to run Diablo except for one problem: I can't hold down the Alt key and click an object with the mouse at the same time. This is kind of vital in the game otherwise it's difficult to pick up

Problems with Diablo II: Can install, but not play
I am trying to play Diablo II v1.03 using Wine version 20041201 (the version currently in Debian Unstable). The game installs fine, but when I try to play it, it does not load. Launching it in a terminal window under X, I see that Wine simply hangs - after several minutes of waiting I terminate the program. Running it in debug mode shows a lot of harmless noise, but no errors. I have tried

Diablo II Maphack Key
Greetings, I got Diablo II work flawlessly with Wine. But I want to use maphack, and that's my problem here. You see, maphack needs the END key to be pressed to reveal the map. When I run the maphack and Diablo II in Wine and press the END key, nothing happens. I suppose I need a way to send END key "signal" to Wine. :) Is this possible?

Trying to run Diablo II MapHack
Hey people :) It's my first post/email here so please bear with me, I tried to reach wine-bugs through nabble and it said it was read-only so I'm posting it here... I'm actually very confused on what's the --main-- place where to get help with wine or report bugs or malfunctions or suggestions/improvements, so if anybody could guide me I would be very glad :). Diablo II Patch 1.13c
Hi everyone. I just downloaded Diablo II from the Blizzard homepage, because I've read that it works pretty well with wine. Unfortunately there came out the new Patch 1.13c in march this year and after installing this the game doesn't start anymore. Has anybody an idea how to fix this problem?

Diablo II: No music in menu
Hi, I frequently compile wine from source. Last weekend, diablo II worked fine. Today, after I updated wine to latest head, it isn't playing any sound in the menu. The debug log says: > 10:44:38.280 ........DirectSound progress: 0 buffers available is > less than min needed 16 buffers for 3d sound > 10:44:38.284 ........DirectSound progress: 0 buffers available is > less

help for Diablo II under Wine
Hi, I am a new user of Ubuntu. I am not familiar with UNIX commands. I try to run Diablo II using Wine. No pb with install, but when I try to run it, it says it can't find the cd in the cd driver. I am not sure for the configuration of Wine. When I type : "grep cdrom /etc/group", i do not get : cdrom::19:jesse, but I get : cdrom:x:24:hal,fran,christian. Moreover, I do not
