Sharp ZQ-290s sync software
Hi,
Since Sharps communication protocols are "top secret", I'm trying to
port their sync software to linux.
I'm new to wine, so this might be silly, but after hours of googling and
searching for solutions I'm posting this.
After installing DCOM98.exe, the Desktop software installed, and it
runs. Only problem is it doesn't detect the device connected to the
serial port

Problem with Lotus Notes RNext client and setting User Preferences
Hi.
I'm new to wine, so not totally sure whether this is a wine issue, or an
application issue, so I am hoping people with more knowledge/experience
can help me.
I have a RedHat 7.1 system, and installed wine via a rpm package. I have
also copies the fonts from a Win NT 4 system and added them to my X11
config.
I am trying to use the beta version of the Lotus Notes RNext client

as-cran issue
Where can I find out (and replicate) what options as-cran turns on?
The issue: the following lines generate an error in R CMD check --as-cran? for coxme.? But
there is no error without as-cran nor is there one when I run the code in a terminal window.
ismat <- function(x)? inherits(x, "matrix") || inherits(x, "bdsmatrix") || inherits(x,

the Thinkboxx over the com port. the program seems to be running well, but
when it tries to open the com ports it say that it has an "Unknown
Communications problem". I think my configuration of wine and the com port
is ok, i have spent

Suggestions for 'diff.default'
I have suggestions for function 'diff.default' in R.
Suggestion 1: If the input is matrix, always return matrix, even if empty.
What happens in R 2.15.2:
> rbind(1:2) # matrix
[,1] [,2]
[1,] 1 2
> diff(rbind(1:2)) # not matrix
integer(0)

Wine'ing Windows Terminal Server Client
I've tried multiple ways to get into terminal server via WINE, but have had no success. I've got Notes, Service Center, Internet Explorer... pretty much all running smoothly... but when I try to use Internet explorer to get into it, I get a box that is outlined where the desktop is supposed to be (on the IE screen, and an object load error in the IE Log)...
I then tried to run mstsc.exe

as-cran issue
Thanks for the feedback Dirk. I sent my follow-up before I saw it.
Looking at the source code, it appears that there is no options() call to turn this on.
Nor does "R --help" reveal a command line option.
How then does a user turn this on outside of the R CMD check envirionment, so as to chase
things like this down?
The fact that 1. renaming my function makes the error go away, 2.

68HC11 under wine
Hi!
I am newbie at wine and I have one problem. After a successful installation of
wine I tried to run some programs - some of them worked properly, but one
(the one I need it the most) does not work.
This program is a simulator of motorola's 68HC11 assembler. When I try to run
it, I get an error:

Couldn't open device 'LPT1'
I'm trying to run my MP3 player software, but it claims the unit is
not powered on. I'm pretty sure I've got the parallel port set up
right; I think the key bit of output is:
|fixme:dosfs:DOSFS_OpenDevice device open LPT1 not supported (yet)
I'm currently using the package from Debian (testing) - is whatever
it's trying to do supported in more recent versions of WINE?

Serial Errors
Hi,
I am new to wine and the list. I am using Wine release 20010112
on a RH7.1 (used supplied RPM) to try and run a program to control a video
switcher that doesn't have a linux ported program.
The program starts OK but when it scans the com1 to diagnose the switcher,
it reports a bad serial port or faulty connection. The utility has
no problem under windows. I included a trace using

Error in R CMD check --as-cran ?
I've been fighting a CMD check error for coxme this morning.?? I thought I had it fixed,
but instead I had forgotton --as-cran on my last test run.? So the version just submitted
to CRAN has warning messages in the log.
I think it is an issue with CRAN.?? I've sent a message to R-devel asking for help.??
Since then, as a guess, I renamed my internal "ismat" function to

See the file src/library/tools/R/check.R in the R sources, and grep for
as_cran which is the internal variable controlled by the --as-cran option
