more on Diablo II (wierd problem)
Ok, I do have Diablo II working, mostly. At the moment, it only works under TWM (not fvwm which is what I normally use) and only in -win mode. The problem is that the first time that my mouse leaves the diablo window, diablo iconifies. Not a major issue, I just have to make sure that it's before I start playing. HOWEVER, after it's de-iconified, the keyboard get's somewhat screwy. I

more on Diablo II
Well, as for the keyboard issue, I've come up with what sounds like an easy work-around. Since its now possible to get LOD working, and LOD works in 800x600 mode, DXgrab should be irrelevant. Just set your display to 800x600 (I'll probably make a script hack that swaps two XFree86 files) and play everything in 800x600. Your mouse will never leave the screen, and you will never lose

directX and transgaming patch
Could someone please post a concise explanation of what's required to get directX working in wine? Here's what I've tried, and vaguely what happened (I'm running RedHat 7.1, new install): installed most recent rpm version of wine can't find direct X (shouldn't be surprising) uninstalled got most recent tarball of wine compiled it can't find direct X

directX
Does the current CVS version of wine have the transgaming directX patch already in it? I'm pretty sure that I've installed wine correctly. I installed the most recent RPM available, and the Diablo II installer says that it can't find direct X. I then downloaded the tar-ball, and tried to run the transgaming patch on it, and it said that it had already been run. That's not so

Trying to run Diablo II MapHack
Hey people :) It's my first post/email here so please bear with me, I tried to reach wine-bugs through nabble and it said it was read-only so I'm posting it here... I'm actually very confused on what's the --main-- place where to get help with wine or report bugs or malfunctions or suggestions/improvements, so if anybody could guide me I would be very glad :). Anyways, I'm

Keyboard repeat error - VNC Xen virtual framebuffer
Hello Xen-Users, I am currently provisioning old Linux guests as HVM on a server, and giving clients access through VNC. The current setup uses the default Xen framebuffer as a VNC server (all configuration files have vnc=1 and a few other settings), and my clients are using vinagre (a.k.a. Remote Desktop Viewer) on Arch as their VNC client. Problem: Keyboard input is not consistently handled

XRDB not in our centos6.8 build
I am a bit baffled on this. We recently rebuilt all our servers to CentOS release 6.8 (Final) from a prior 6.x centos release. We ran into a couple of problems such as Java not working (just had to yum install java). It was installed, but unable to create a java machine, until I yum install java solved the problem. But now a user (the big boss) is receiving xrdp errors. And it appears

child's game - install trouble
Hi - I'm try to install a child's game into Wine 0.9.59 which runs on my Ubuntu 7.10 system, but am having trouble. I don't think it's wine, as it seems to be fine otherwise; I have installed MS Office from CD without too much trouble. In this case, after I select Wine to run the Autorun.exe an installer pop-up graphic appears and offers and "install" choice. But

Can''t boot HVM Linux guests on Debian Squeeze Dom0
I just downloaded Debian Squeeze and installed Xen from packages, following the instructions here: http://wiki.debian.org/Xen I am able to get PV guests up and running easily, but HVM guests will not even boot. The HVM I am currently trying to run is Debian sarge, which I installed into a disk image and configured using qemu. I am running on an HP Proliant ML150G6, which has Intel-VT hardware

Counting number of rows with two criteria in dataframe
Hi R-users, I'm trying to find an elegant way to count the number of rows in a dataframe with a unique combination of 2 values in the dataframe. My data is specifically one column with a year, one with a month, and one with a day. I'm trying to count the number of days in each year/month combination. But for simplicity's sake, the following dataset will do:

Deleting rows with NA from isolated column in matrix
Hi all, I'm relatively new to R and have a data management problem. I am importing a data matrix with some columns that have missing values. I am trying to figure out how to delete rows with NA for data FOR JUST ONE SPECIFIED column. For instance, with the example matrix: x<-matrix(nrow=5,ncol=3) x[,]<-1 x[5,1]<-NA x[3,3]<-NA how do I tell R to delete any rows with an NA value

Boxplot of multiple vectors with different lengths
Hello, I'm attempting to write a code that automatically imports data from different files (with different lengths-just one variable) and makes tidy box plots for comparison. I can successfully import the data and create a list of the vectors I want to compare. But I cannot, for the life of me, figure out how to generate box plots using the "list" option. Suppose these are my data:

Finding/identifying a value within a factor
Hi all, I'm trying to identify a particular digit or value within a vector of factors. Specifically, this is environmental data where in some cases the minimum value reported is "<" a particular number (and I want to manipulate only these). For example: x<-c("1","2","3","4","<1") For a dataset that is hundreds or

Linking 2 columns in 2 databases and applying a function
Hi all, I have two datasets, one that represents a long-term time series and one that represents summary data for the time series. It looks something like this: x<-data.frame(Year=c(2001,2001,2001,2001,2001,2001,2002,2002,2002,2002,2002,2002), Month=c(1,1,1,2,2,2),Q=c(5,5,5,6,6,6,3,3,3,4,4,5)) y<-data.frame(Year=c(2001,2001,2002,2002),Month=c(1,2,1,2),Threshold_Q=c(5,5,4,4)) What I'd

Controlling the extent of ablines on plot
Hi all, I'm attempting to make a quite-specific plot where the axes cross at the origin and with gridlines for guidance. I've been using ablines to create the reference lines because I want a lot of control as to where they are placed on the axis. This command works very well for such control. However... These ablines don't seem to work when I specify the origin as 0,0. They go

Use of cruel and unusal frame sizes
Hi, I've been developing an application using CELT for some time and, for simplicity, have restricted frame sizes to powers of 2. During final testing I tested with a sound interface (the Phonic Firefly 302) whose ASIO drivers are very restictive in what they accept, and have about 6 allowable frame sizes < 512, a lot of which are odd numbers. However some are even numbered, so
