Internet Explorer
Hi! We are working in a migration of workstations (with M$) to Linux, we are around 12000 pc?s, with a lot OF aplications designed to WinNT, some of these are web aplications with Java and activeX from Microsoft, we need to run it in Linux, and we tried to use Wine to do it. The question....How to install IE(4, 5 or 6) in a system without Windows partition, and...the support for java and activeX?

Hi there, for an application (which is only available on windows) I need to have the MS Virutal machine, which is supplied with IE4 SP3 and more, so I downloaded IE 5.0 and tried to install it. I think the main problem is, that I am new to wine and maybe my problem isn't really a problem.... If I run "wine --debugmsg +warn IE5Setup.exe" the assistant starts and after that crashes

I'm currently trying to get Internet Explorer 5.0 or 5.5 installed. I have been successful in installing Microsoft OFfice 2000, however I can't save any files or open any files, but in any case that is installed. WHen I try to run MS Access or Frontpage, it complains obout IE not being installed. Therefore, I'm trying to get it going. When I try to install Internet Explorer 5.0

Can't Get Internet Explorer Help to Work After July "Snapshot"
My main project is to get a video capture and editing application, Edit Studio 4, working in wine. As I was testing it, I discovered that it requires the help engine of Internet Explorer to implement its help functions. The following discussion describes what happens or happened today and in the July snapshot of wine. I used Mike Hearns "install-ie6.sh" script" to install

Explorer - DirectX and ActiveX
Hello! I'll be running a web project in a future that has a "3d city" built in. Unfortunately the makers of this 3dcity were enough braindamaged to make it as activeX component, so it only works for IE users. The first rational step was to install explorer with ies4linux script and it works briliantly (IE6)! The activeX component does install and start, however it is saying there

Internet Explorer 5.5 with Wine?
I'm extremely new to Wine, I don't even have a confog file yet. I can't find any decent documentation at wineHQ.com. Can anyone explain that whole thing to me? Also, I hate Mozilla, Netscape, and Opera. I want to get IE 5.5 working with Wine. I have tried getting to the Internet explorer Directory in the Terminal, and then using "wine iexplore.exe -dll

Handling of metadata in llvm::CloneModule
Sorry if this has been discussed already... I am trying to understand whether there is an underlying reason why llvm::CloneModule takes argument function ShouldCloneDefinition to discriminate on objects being cloned, but blindly copies all named metadata...? In my case this results in debug nodes that are creating uses/relocations for global objects that were _not_ copied per

coding for windows using wine
Hello all, First , let me say that I am running wine without windows. I am using a cross compiler to code a win32 app. I then run the app using wine. I am wondering if I copy say -- mfc42.dll to my fake windows system directory, is it possible to write mfc style code? I can get the dlls-- I'm just wondering if I can use them under wine...

questions about winelib
I need to write a win32 program. However, my workstation is a Linux box. I was goingto create a cross compiler and compile my code and run it on wine... However, I heard about winelib, and allegedly I can just use winelib and compile on my linux box using good ol' gcc and it will just work. Is this true? If so how would I set that up? Where can I find the docs?

lost scroll wheel of Intellimouse Explorer 4.0 on 7.0-STABLE
Hello, Today I updated my desktop PC from FreeBSD 7.0R to 7-STABLE. After that, the scroll wheel of my Intellimouse Explorer 4.0 (USB wired) stopped working. I searched relevant information and found kern/123224 "[ums] Scroll wheel breakage w/ USB MS Wireless Intellimouse Explorer 2.0". The symptom is quite similar. ums0: <Microsoft Microsoft IntelliMouse Explorer, class 0/0, rev

Backfitting with Missing Explanatory Values
Hi, I just wanted to check I'm not re-inventing the wheel here. I'm developing a new algorithm for backfitting (i.e. additive models) and for computing partial residuals, where partial residuals are still computed even where there are missing values. Noting additive models here contain both linear terms and smooth terms. If I am re-inventing the wheel could some one please let me know.

Re-inventing the Wheel (again?)
I''m new to puppet and working my way through the documentation. I''m struggling with the puppet labs module repo. I''ve toyed with numerous automation and configuration methodologies over the decades. Perhaps I''m seeing puppet wrong, Compared with CFEngine there is a a lot I like, but I''m not sure why I''m still having to re-invent the

Is it possible to run explorer.exe under wine?
I'm intending to use wine on my Macbook Pro and am currently downloading the requisite materials, based on a tutorial on how to use wine for Mac. So I'm getting xcode and Macports package installer and from there I will install. Anyway, the tutorial also gives the basics of wine usage via terminal for executing windows files and while it's not particularly difficult it occurs to me

Trying to run LiveResponse
LiveResponse is a CRM tech support client. The installer went through without a hitch, but when I run i get about 10 "Internal Application Error" message boxes and the final window comes up but doesn't render much. I'm using Wine 0.9.9. I'm new to wine, so I don't really know where to begin with getting something like this working. I doubt anyone's got experience

Possible bug in handling of HTML comments
It appears that Markdown will process ampersands contained within HTML comments if that comment is part of a markdown paragraph, but will not when that paragraph is contained within an HTML block of it's own (and therefore ignored by Markdown.) For example: This is a markdown paragraph with a comment that *will* be processed <!-- This & *will* be converted -->

Automating binning for chisq.test()
The standard chisq.test() and fisher.test() functions, when applied to two distributions (to determine whether the same underlying distribution applies to both) requires one to pre-bin the distributions. Is there a library function (either built-in or in a package) that acts more like the ks.test() function, in that one can simply pass the two distributions and have it do the necessary binning as
