[HELP] file access
I use Wine to run Stew, an Atari ST emulator, which seems to be the successor of Winston0.5. I run it in a 800x600 Wine Desktop, in managed=Y mode. While using Stew, I can't access .ST files. I "Insert Disk A:", then I choose the file in the Wine file selector. I valid my choice and then: Wine disapears (exit or crash...). I don't know if the problem lies within Wine, Stew, or

[HELP] mouse
Hi, I'm Yves and I'm new to this list. I use Wine as Win98 but without Windows, on a ReiserFS directory. I use Wine to run Stew, an Atari ST emulator, which seems to be the successor of Winston0.5. I run it in a 800x600 Wine Desktop, in managed=Y mode. While USING Stew, the mouse behaves strangely: the ST emulator runs inside the Wine Desktop in full screen and the ST mouse pointer

[HELP] Fn keys
Hi, I'm Yves and I'm new to this list. I use Wine as Win98 but without Windows, on a ReiserFS directory. I use Wine to run Stew, an Atari ST emulator, which seems to be the successor of Winston0.5. I run it in a 800x600 Wine Desktop, in managed=Y mode. While using the emulator, I can't use the Fn keys. For example, if the program's asking to press F1 for this and F2 for that, I

[HELP] DPMS
Hi, I'm Yves and I'm new to this list. I use Wine as Win98 but without Windows, on a ReiserFS directory. Every once in a while, I try to run a dos program in wcmd (unix compiled & launched). My main purpose is to test Atari ST emulators. Always, the dos program wants to access memory in "real mode". There's something about the first 64Ko of memory, then it always ends

Rep:Re: [HELP] file access
Hi! A .ST file actually is a file representing an Atari ST disk. As Atari used Dos format, I can do (if I want): mount /pathTo/file.st /pathTo/mntPoint -t msdos -o loop So Stew (the Atari emulator) actually does file access, not disk access. Still, I'll follow Mr Patel's suggestion, and try to send the resulting file. Yves. -----Message d'origine De: g.patel@wanadoo.fr----- >I use

(no subject)
Hi, I'm attempting to star Wine (as root). What does it mean when Wine-20011004 tells me that I need the "-desktop option to use the native USER" ? (start fails then) I don't understand because my install is Wine-only (no Windows so built-in should prevail over native), the .wine directory and the C: drive are all ./tools/wineinstall -generated. My config is Mandrake8.1 kernel

[HELP] DPMI
Sure! As I don't have Internet at home, most of my e-mails (at work) are from memory... So it surely is DPMI. [BUG] ddraw sur wine-20010510
I confirm the ddraw problem in wine-20010510. I "downdated" yesterday: $ patch -p0 -R < wine-20010510.diff $ mv wine-20010510 wine-20010418 And reinstalled everything of course. Now Wine works fine. (So now it works again, I'll be able to follow g.patel's proposition for my other problem: *.ST file access within STew) Yves. --- I previously wrote: --- Up to 20010418, I had

unknown symbol?
Hi! Up to 20010418, I had no problem running Wine (the win32 app is another matter). I just updated to 20010510 and here's the result. An handful of tags !
Another problem I would like to speack about : tags. Each format appears to create its own tag. TwinVQ and WMA tags are limited but Mp3 has a good tag system (although the "genre" category could be improved). Now ogg develops a new kind of tagging. I imagine converting all my tags with thousand of tracks... real nightmare... Is there an authority or a project to standardiza tags ?

Hi All, I''ve been fooling around with the login_generator and the rolling with ruby on rails demo, but I''m jiggered if I can get the two to work together. I''ve managed to get everything installed ok, and have created the db and tables, etc. I''ve been using ruby script\generate login Recipe, and I can either the get the basic tutorial to work, or get the

Finding/identifying a value within a factor
Hi all, I'm trying to identify a particular digit or value within a vector of factors. Specifically, this is environmental data where in some cases the minimum value reported is "<" a particular number (and I want to manipulate only these). For example: x<-c("1","2","3","4","<1") For a dataset that is hundreds or

Latest on Abacus DPMI problem.
I contacted Mr. Heinonen, and got the response below. So, he says the problem is, it is 16 bit DPMI, which is rare, and the real problem is, DOSVM has a bug which allows two simultaneous interrupts. I assured him I was not asking anyone to work on the problem at all. I needed to get a handle on it, I had thought it was a locked selector problem. Learning what the real problem was, is a big

WinXP looking for *.dll share names?
Hi folks, Over the last few weeks, one of our WinXP machines (of many) has started generating errors like the following in our log files: Jul 5 09:43:30 blah smbd[13180]: blah-xp (192.168.1.1) couldn't find service sharename.dll where "sharename" is a real share name that this user should be mapping. We see lots of these errors, one for each share the user tries to map. In

klibc 0.207 released
This changes the RPM spec file to have -devel and -utils packages; the klibc main package is now only the runtime (plus libc.so and interp.o to avoid version skew; someone who is better at RPM than I am might be able to do the right thing with Requires and Provides to make sure there is a 100% binary match between files, using the hash code.) I'd like to let this stew for a bit, to smoke

Permission errors when creating/reading files in users' mail directories
Hi folks, I'm trying to migrate an old uw-imap server to dovecot, and running into puzzling (to me) permission problems. I've configured mail_location as follows: mail_location = mbox:~/mail:INBOX=/var/spool/mail/%u and each user's mail directory has permissions like this: drwx------ 2 uid gid 4096 Jul 5 09:26 /home/uid/mail But when I try to check a user's mail using
