Corrupted Program Files Directory
Has anyone had this experience with WINE? I wasn't doing anything very unusual (or sophisticated). I had run Quicken just to see if it worked, which it did fine. I had also run my ACR program (see prior post) in debug mode to see if I could get any other ideas about get it to function proberly. Then I notice that my Program Files directory is empty? Eventually I find all the contents in

Program runs, but crashes...
I'm attempting to get a version of a terminal emulator (Meditech, proprietary Esprit105C emulation) running on a Linux box with RedHat 6.2 and CodeWeavers Wine 20010305-1. The program runs (after asking for netapi32.dll and netbios.dll first...copied those from a win98 PC with no problems) and then when I start entering the information to set up the terminal config, it crashes with the

GIMP 2.4 on CentOS 5?
Hi, I'm using CentOS 5 on all our desktops here (work & home), and I'm quite happy with it. There's one detail I'd like to change. GIMP comes in version 2.2. There have been some changes in version 2.4, and it's also been around for quite some time. There are quite some functions in 2.4 that I'd like to use. As far as I understand, building GIMP 2.4 would involve

ntdll error msg
Hello, I'm a newbie to wine. I've installed codeweavers-wine-20010305-1.i386.rpm to Redhat Linux 6.2; Windows version is win98. I've tested the wine install and can run sol.exe, micrsoft office apps, and a Pegasus Email client just fine. The main purpose of installing wine is to run an EDI windows client server application - Gentran Server 5.2.1.04. I need the Gentran client

stopifnot() does not stop at first non-TRUE argument
This is getting pretty convoluted. The current behavior is consistent with the description at the top of the help page -- it does not promise to stop evaluation once the first non-TRUE is found. That seems OK to me -- if you want sequencing you can use stopifnot(A) stopifnot(B) or stopifnot(A && B) I could see an argument for a change that in the multiple argumetn case reports _all_

CD burning issues & questions
I have been having some strange results trying to burn CDs under CentOS. I don't think they are hardware related because I have had some success, in fact most of this usually works. I use k3b for most of my CD and DVD writing - it seems to work fairly well (well, except for wrecking my installation a few weeks ago when it crashed my installation and I had to reinstall to get it back, but

CalamusSL 2000 DTP program
Hello, I tried to install CalamusSL 2000 under wine 20010305 and the installation itself was successfull. But when I start the program the main window is very small (120x27) and can't be changed. So the GUI is not visible ... What can I do to help the maker of the program to find the problem? And there is another problem with temporary fonts. The program needs some fonts that will be

Trouble with WINE
Hello folks, I have the most recent version of WINE (20010305), and have been trying to run it with no luck until now. I have tried some very simple programs like notepad and solitaire, and both don't seem to work: all I get is a sh*itload (a REAL sh*itload) of font-related fixme's. Meanwhile, the system's load average increases, reaching a point where even the X server goes down

Regression trees with an ordinal response variable
Hi, I am working on a regression tree in Rpart that uses a continuous response variable that is ordered. I read a previous response by Pfr. Ripley to a inquiry regarding the ability of rpart to handle ordinal responses in 2003. At that time rpart was unable to implement an algorithm to handle ordinal responses. Has there been any effort to rectify this in recent years? Thanks! Stacey On

Codeweavers install problem.
Hi... trying to install Codeweavers-wine-20010305, which is the latest stable build I understand. It configures and then informs me that it'll compile but that building without the Xpm development files won't work. Sure enough... they were right...<grin> So I go get the latest Xpm stuff and they turn out to be libxpm4-3.4 and libxpm4-devel-3.4. Got them in .src.rpm and
