picking a NUMA cell for pinning using virsh freecell
Hi
I'd want to pin the vcpu of a guest to a pcpu.
the docs clearly say
https://access.redhat.com/knowledge/docs/en-US/Red_Hat_Enterprise_Linux/6/html/Virtualization_Administration_Guide/ch09s04.html
"Locking a guest to a particular NUMA node offers no benefit if that node
does not have sufficient free memory for that guest. libvirt stores

Light-weight window manager, recommendations
So, I've mentioned that I've got an original netbook, circa 2009, and I'm
going to put CentOS on it. 32 bit. Not huge disk, old Atom processor, not
tons of memory. Any recommendations for a light-weight window manager?
Before I went to KDE, I used fvwm2, and all I'm going to do is use it to
read webmail and browse, read news, etc, so I don't need a lot.

Is it possible to use virsh to set the cpuset attribute of the CPU

cputune shares with multiple cpu and pinning
Hi,
I have found the cpu time partitioning based on cpu shares weights not
very intuitive.
On RHEL64, I deployed two qemu/kvm VMs
VM1 with 1 vcpu and 512 cpu shares
VM2 with 2 vcpus and 1024 cpu shares
I pinned their vcpus to specific host pcpus:
VM1 vcpu 0 to host pcpu1
VM2 vcpu 0 to host pcpu1, VM2 vcpu 1 to host pcpu2
I executed inside the VMs a simple process that consume all

[Bug 36090] [NV34] [NV49] terminal's visual bell is very slow with nouveau

Interesting. So, I'm a Fedora (currently v18) user. I created a stock
account, logged in to a standard Gnome environment, and fired up an xterm with
visual bell running, and it doesn't have the same problem. In fact, I couldn't
even SEE a visual bell. Odd. All I could tell was that

Light-weight window manager, recommendations
I use Xfce. Got into it on my arm boards with Fedora-arm, and run it on
my notebook with Fedora_x64.
Thing is that it is not a group for Centos, you have to do the install
by apps which I can help with, as I have installed it on a ClearOS7
server. A few things ARE missing and I really need to submit a bug
report about that...
But Xfce is really good to work with.

qemu-img convert to "sparse" LV
Apologies as this is is not a specific libvirt question.
Is qemu-img convert compatible with thin-provisioned LVs as targets ?
I wanted to convert a file-based image to a LV image
where the file-based image has a capacity much larger than the actual data
it contains, so it has a small footprint on disk
(either a qcow2 or a raw, but sparse, image).
If I use qemu-img convert -O raw ... with a

Authentication problems with Windows clients
I have installed Samba 2.0.4b on AIX 4.3.1 but cannot get it to
authenticate Windows clients. The error that I get is 'The password is
incorrect'. However when I use smbclient on the AIX box to connect to the
shared resource it connects no problem. The only way that I can get a
Windows client to connect is by putting the server into share mode and
setting the share as guest allowable.

systems hang when accessing parts of the OCFS2 file system
Hi everyone
Firstly, apologies for the cross post, I am not sure which list is most
appropriate for this question. I should also point out, that I did not
install OCFS2 and I am not the person that normally looks after these
kind of things, so please can you bear that in mind when you make any
suggestions (I will need a lot of detail!)

Wine release 20010629
This is release 20010629 of Wine, a free implementation of Windows on
Unix. This is still a developers only release. There are many bugs
and unimplemented features. Most applications still do not work
correctly.
Patches should be submitted to "wine-patches@winehq.com". Please don't
forget to include a ChangeLog entry.

OpenSCAP failures to to OS version?
Hi - I?m running the OpenSCAP STIG profile on a new CentOS 7.1611 installation, and I get a few failures that look like this (output from openscap scan ?verbosity INFO). I suspect this is because the openscap module is not accepting CentOS 7 as RHEL 7 for rules purposes, despite an early check for "Community Enterprise Operating System 7? which succeeds.

Focus behavior when not using "Click to focus"
Hi.
I am currently not using "Click to focus" (and would rather not) when
using Compiz. Mostly then the focus behavior works as I expect. There is
one case where it does not:
Suppose I have two windows on viewport 1 but am currently looking at
viewport 2. The mouse cursor is currently located such that if I were to
switch to viewport 1, it would hover over window 1 (and thus give focus
