Compilation error on cvs - version
Hi,
Thanks to Eric Pouech I was encouraged to download the
newest cvs-version to have the windows media player
running under linux.
Unfortunately there is a compilation error when I run
./tools/wineinstall .
Apparently a type definition is missing for XDGAMode in
include/ts_xf86dga2.h:
extern XDGAMode* TSXDGAQueryModes(Display*, int, int*);
Any hints?
Thank you
Florian

when I look at the libopengl32 calls I get

description method and test failures
Hi all,
Hoping you can help. I have a project using rspec 1.1.3 and rails
2.0.2. I''ve run into a small problem. Said project has a method in
application_helper.rb named "description". Whenever a spec test
fails, I see a message like so:
*snip*/vendor/plugins/rspec/lib/spec/runner/reporter.rb:37:in
`description'': wrong number of arguments (0 for 2)

Feature request
And of course there's always the old standby in /etc/passwd (obviously change the account name)
secretshutdown:x:0:0:root:/root:/sbin/shutdown
And it presupposes that root logins are allowed (which is asking for trouble).

render_to_string in a controller test?
Hi all,
I know that in general, view and controller tests should be isolated,
such that controller specs don''t test views etc. However, I think
I''ve run into a situation that might be an exception.
My controller uses render_to_string to produce a chunk of HTML that it
passes to a model to be processed.
The controller then redirects the user to a different page. The

Bad mime type reported for flac file
Hi all,
It has recently come to my attention that the linux "file" utility
reports some (but not all) of my flac files as having a mime type of
"audio/mpeg". Obviously this is incorrect, but why is it reported as
such? I've cut and paste a few commands below from my shell to
illustrate what I'm seeing:
black:/media/mildred/music/Tool/10,000 Days$ file -i *

help with DCOM R Server
I am currently using a window based system to run R. I need to have a
C++ program to call some functions in R. With what I have read, the
DCOM R server seems to have a way to interface R with C++. However with
the readme.txt file that is with download, It gives example from VB and
python, but there is no interface for C++. Does anyone what's the
interface in C++ to initialize R, Call

Bad mime type reported for flac file
Eric,
I believe that ID3 tags are not legal for FLAC, but they are
accommodated. ID3 tags are supposed to be for MP3 only. The Linux
"file" utility is probably finding ID3 tags and making a reasonable
assumption that this is an MP3.
I don't tag my FLAC files, so I do not know what to suggest. Perhaps
there are some clues in the FLAC documentation on what are proper tag

Half-Life: Selected Mode is not supported by your card
Hi,
following the explainations of the Linux Half-Life Howto I ran into the

after this error, I get:

Wine exits immediately to debugger (_dl_relocate_object -- glibc2.2.3)
added --prefix=/usr/local/wine to CONFARGS in file). When I try to
run any program with any sort of system of calling wine it exits
immediately and starts the debugger with something like the following
trace.
I notice that the trace seems to end in a call to dl-reloc.c. I don't
know if this is a bogus message produced by something else, but I did
build glibc2.2.3 from source awhile ago.

Wine and Poser 4
I am fairly new to wine and have been attempting to get Metacreation's
Poser 4 to run. It installs without error, but never starts up properly
when I try to run it.
I am running the unstripped binaries dated today (11/30/2001) under
Mandrake 8.1. I do not reference my installed windows 98 partition at
all in my configuration.
I have attempted to get some information from winedbg and have

winebuild problems - wine-20050930
Hi,
Does anyone know what happened to the --debug option in winebuild?
It seems to have disappeared in more recent versions of Wine.
I am attempting to build a program that uses winebuild with the
debug in a Make file. This no longer builds. What's the proper way to
change the Makefile now that this option no longer exists?
I know that's a vague question, but it seems that often

winehq.org winebuild docs outdated?
Hello
I'm trying to follow the instructions on
http://www.winehq.org/site/docs/winelib-guide/spec-file, but the
"-spec" option is apparently no longer supported by winebuild??
My .spec file is called "device.spec" and contains one item:
init WinMain
I've tried to get winebuild to accept this file in a number of ways and
the farthest I've got is with this:

Segfaults, winebuild, and glibc 2.2.3
I just upgraded my Linux box to glibc 2.2.3. Before the upgrade (glibc
2.1.92), wine compiled and ran beautifully. After, however, winebuild
segfaults for no apparent reason. Upon running ldd, I found that it is
properly loading all libraries. I do have one question, however. Does
the package glibc-profile have any effect on this? If it does, problem
(probably) solved. Otherwise, I'm
