rsync 2.5.x doesn't like iso uploading with -z option
...but 2.4.3 worked fine. this is linux 2.4.18 with glibc 2.2.5 and libz 1.1.4, if it matters, on both source and dest. apparently something about trying to send a file ending with .iso gives rsync a fit if the -z [compress] option is used. $ time rsync -Pzv --stats cd1_en_binary.iso mail.cheek.com::root/home/ericom Password: cd1_en_binary.iso rsync: error writing 16385 unbuffered bytes -

Program runs, but crashes...
I'm attempting to get a version of a terminal emulator (Meditech, proprietary Esprit105C emulation) running on a Linux box with RedHat 6.2 and CodeWeavers Wine 20010305-1. The program runs (after asking for netapi32.dll and netbios.dll first...copied those from a win98 PC with no problems) and then when I start entering the information to set up the terminal config, it crashes with the

ASIFONT:FON not found
Hi there, T'was a few months since I checked archives, I didn't see any mention of ASIFONT.FON back then anyway. Thing is I've been trying to run a few older Macromedia productions (childrens games mostly). They rather consequently fail with something like this: (example taken from a rather new (cvs)winex, but behaviour has been similar for ordinary wine as long as I can remember)

Meditech and Wine
I am trying to get our Meditech application to work on a Mandrake 8.1 in GNOME. I am getting the following messages when I try to run it: The application runs, sort of. The screen is a complete mess. Warning: The Wine launcher is unable to find xmessage. The launcher script relies heavily on finding this tool, and without it, it will behave poorly. Most Linux distributions have one or

Trouble with bitmap fonts
I have an (16-bit) application using a custom bitmap font, created by myself with the ancient MS C/C++ + Win3 SDK tools, and was interested if it would run under Wine. The program itself works beautifully, but the font only partially -- most of the glyphs are missing from the output. Numbers and some random characters display, but others are just blanks (scaling also looks bad, it's not

wine serial support
Hi, I use wine to run a terminal emulator (NetTerm). It connects to a Linux Server (it was meant to run from windows) that runs a commerce software. This Linux commerce software sends the terminal emulator escape codes to interface with a "ticket" printer attached to a serial port. The reason to go thru all this problem is that the printer has a proprietary, closed source driver for
