wine exits to debugger immediately. Searching for dll files?
I compiled and installed wine using the ./tools/wineinstall script
without any modifications. It built and installed without indicating
problems. When I attempt to run any program wine drops into the
debugger immediately. When I run with --debugmsg warn+all I get the
following trace which I have copied in part. I gather that wine is
searching for the following dll's: ntdll.dll,

Wine dummy-spitting
I've got a real problem with the debian (unstable) wine 0.0.200202228-1
Whenever I try to run a windows executable - of any sort, although it's
Jeskola Buzz in the example I've attached - wine cheerfully spits the
dummy. I realise that the DRIVE_Init warnings are ignorable, but

wineconsole regression
I am using the Daily Debian Wine builds (used to be the 'Drunkard' builds)
to run the freeware version of the IDA Pro disassembler (see
http://www.datarescue.be/downloadfreeware.htm). Until about two or three
weeks ago it would run OK using wineconsole. Since that time, the window
pops up then immediately disappears. Wineconsole exits with
"Wine failed with return code 1".

Getting Groupwise to run setup.exe
Hello I'm having trouble trying to run setup.exe from either the 32bit or
16bit versions of Groupwise. I copied the win32 version of ncftp.exe and
was able to get it to load up ok. I didn't have sol.exe to play with.
Here's the details.

Dll's missing
Hi,
My wine doesn't work. First I installed it from deb packages at debian
servers. I added /usr/lib/wine to ld.so.conf
I did ldconfig
But wine still can't find dll's.
Then I copied a win dir from a friend. And used winesetuptk to show it
to wine. Wine still can't find some dlls.
Then I downloaded debs from www.winehq.com Same stuff happened again?
Somebody please help me ??

Wine Debugging Log
While attempting some of the posted possible answers to my wine
difficulties, the following debug log was produced. Does this help anyone?
Wine should have a option in the debug window which would send the results
of a faulty launch directly to the wine-developer list (ala KDE) so that
problems can be more easily solved.

Wine crash after update
Hi,
I was using wine_0.0.20040309-1 in a Debian distro and it was working.
I updated to wine_0.0.20040408-1, it is not working more. The bug report is below.
Note that if I go to directory where .exe file is and starts wine. Wine works.
I think that the problem is with blank spaces in the directory name.

WineLib Seg Fault?
A question for the WineLib guru's :)
I am using the wine-20011108 build with Mandrake 8.0 and with this
version of wine clean compiled and installed I can run several windows
programs very successfully :).
Then I use winemaker to create a WineLib 'so' file and the compile and
link again runs clean.
But when I run the resulting 'so' file using this command line:

config trouble
hi all,
since about 3 weeks i'm having trouble running cvs wine (no problems
before).
on startup it says:

Warning: could not find wine config [Drive x] entry for current working

Tried a different tack ....
I installed the latest Codeweavers preview build (binary RPM, ugh!), and
the DeskTopWindow error I was experiencing building from cvs is gone. All
the font fixme warnings (which had, at one point, gone away) are back, and
I'm back to the previous error I was getting before DeskTopWindow:

Trying to start notes (or others) with wine I'll get:

For language 'german' several language ids were found:

Instead of using first in the list, suggest to define
your LANG environment variable like this: LANG=de_DE

Problem report: SHRINKER.ERR, fix to DEVICE_Open/CreateFileA?
This was an error I got when running a self-installing executable,
power-structure-demo.exe, available from www.write-brain.com (a demo for
Power Structure).
A error box appears with title SHRINKER.ERR and message:

and then the program quits.
